The composition of the microbial community associated with Macrobrachium rosenbergii zoeae varies throughout larval development.

Journal of Fish Diseases, 2020
The giant river prawn, Macrobrachium rosenbergii, is an economically important freshwater prawn. The cultivation of zoea larvae is crucial for the success of the M. rosenbergii industry.

Effects of Cu2+ on alkaline phosphatase from Macrobrachium rosenbergii

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2018
To gain insight into the effect of Cu2+ on the activity and structure of alkaline phosphatase (ALP) from Macrobrachium rosenbergii, the enzyme was purified using ammonium sulfate fractionation, Sephacryl S-200, and DEAE anion exchange chromatography.

Effect of time-restricted feeding and refeeding regimes on compensatory growth, body composition, and feed utilization in prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii) culture system

Journal of Applied Aquaculture, 2020
A 14-week feeding experiment was conducted to determine the effect of a time-restricted feeding and refeeding regime on compensatory growth, body composition, and feed utilization in improved traditional prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii) culture systems.

Macrobrachium rosenbergii nodavirus (MrNV)-CP-RNA-2 DNA vaccine confers protective immunity in giant freshwater prawn Macrobrachium rosenbergii against MrNV infection

Fish & Shellfish Immunology, 2019
Macrobrachium rosenbergii Nodavirus (MrNV) causes white tail disease (WTD) in Giant freshwater prawn Macrobrachium rosenbergii which leads to immense economic losses in hatcheries and farms. In the present study, we cloned the capsid protein gene of MrNV-CP-RNA-2 (1146 bp) into a DNA vaccine vector pVAX1 to form MrNV-CP-RNA-2- pVAX1.

A massive kill of pond-reared Macrobrachium rosenbergii

Aquaculture, 1977
Abstract Pond culture of Macrobrachium rosenbergii was progressing satisfactorily until reduced oxygen concentration killed 45% of the prawns within a 3-day period. A concatenation of over-fertilization of the pond water with a mash-type supplemental food, bottom turnover due to heavy rains and an algal bloom led to this kill.

Karyological studies on the freshwater prawn Macrobrachium rosenbergii

Aquaculture, 1991
Abstract A cytogenetic study was conducted in the freshwater prawn, Macrobrachium rosenbergii , by preparing metaphase chromosome spreads from the tissue of the antennal gland and testis. Chromosomal analysis of the antennal gland in males revealed a modal diploid chromosome number of 2n = 118.
