A series of structural features of the three main humic fractions (humic acid, fulvic acid and humin) from different depths of a peat bog deposit in Mazago´n (Huelva, Southern Spain) were isolated and analysed by flash pyrolysis–gas chromatography–mass ...

Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

Phytomass Valorization by Deep Eutectic Solvents—Achievements, Perspectives, and Limitations
In recent years, a plethora of extraction processes have been performed by a novel class of green solvents known as deep eutectic solvents (DESs), possessing several environmental, operational, and economic advantages proven by experience when compared ...

Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Adsorption of Glyphosate by humic substances
Four humic substances were extracted from a peat (HA1) and a volcanic soil (HA2), an oxidized coal (HA3), and a lignite (HA4). The four humic materials presented distinct differences in their chemical and physical−chemical characteristics as assessed by ...

Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.

Micelle-like conformation of humic substances as revealed by size exclusion chromatography
To gain further insight into the macromolecular behaviour of humic substances we treated a humic material with simple organic compounds and followed the change in molecular size distribution Monocarboxylic, dicarboxylic, and tricarboxylic acids shifted ...

Control effect of kaolin in lignite on biological methane metabolism process
Kaolinite is a common mineral in coal, and its influence on the metabolic process of coal biological methane is less concerned. In this study, lignite and kaolin after demineralization were selected to explore the control effect of kaolin on coal bio-gas

Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Created in BioRender. Wikman, H.

A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.
