This study utilizes programmable mechanical pressure as a therapeutic enhancer to establish a mechano‐chemotherapy strategy. Controlled pressure activates the mechanosensitive ion channel Piezo1 in bladder cancer, triggering a calcium ion cascade that transiently and reversibly amplifies membrane permeability to chemotherapeutics.

Burkholderia cenocepaciaInduces Macropinocytosis to Enter Macrophages [PDF]
Burkholderia cenocepaciais an opportunistic pathogen that infects individuals with cystic fibrosis, chronic granulomatous disease, and other immunocompromised states.B. cenocepaciasurvives in macrophages in membrane-bound vacuoles; however, the mechanism by whichB. cenocepaciagains entry into macrophages remains unknown.

Light‐Harvesting Photothermal Hotspots Enabled by NIR Scattering‐Absorption Coupling
By coupling the broadband scattering of nanodiamonds with the plasmonic absorption of gold nanostars, this work proposes a novel strategy for the active modulation of photon transport. This strategy creates localized photothermal hotspots in turbid media and achieves a supra‐additive heating efficiency, thereby providing a universal platform for low ...

Objective Cerebral ischemic stroke causes neuronal oxygen/energy deprivation, disrupting mitochondrial function including reduced membrane potential and bioenergetics, exacerbating neuronal injury. Mitochondrial defects are, therefore, a central neuropathological node and potential therapeutic target.

Mucin Glycoprotein Nanoparticles Enable a Selective Antisense Therapy for Oncogenic MicroRNAs
Mucin glycoproteins are turned into nanoparticles by employing synthetic DNA strands, which have a dual function: they stabilize the nanoparticles and act as binding sites for intracellular miRNA‐21. Thus, upon internalization into tumor cells, these mucin nanoparticles can deplete miRNA‐21 from the cytosol, which induces apoptosis in vitro and in vivo.

SNX5 is essential for efficient macropinocytosis and antigen processing in primary macrophages
Summary Macropinocytosis mediates the bulk endocytosis of solute molecules, nutrients and antigens. As this endocytic pathway is considered important in functions associated with immune responses, the molecular mechanisms regulating this pathway in ...

SLIT2/ROBO1-signaling inhibits macropinocytosis by opposing cortical cytoskeletal remodeling
Macrophages survey their surroundings using macropinocytosis, but its regulation is unclear. Here, the authors report that SLIT2, a known inhibitor of Rac GTPases, is an endogenous inhibitor of macropinocytosis, and that SLIT2 limits the uptake of NOD2 ...

An Engineered Extracellular Vesicle With Enhanced Tumor and Lymph Nodes Targeting as siRNA Delivery System for Robust Tumor Immunotherapy. [PDF]
Simple incubation with DP7‐C enables the generation of extracellular vesicles (DP‐EVs) with enhanced both tumor and lymph nodes targeting properties. DP‐EVs/siPD‐L1 can effectively inhibit tumor growth and greatly prolong the survival of tumor bearing mice through immune response activation and tumor microenvironment reprogramming.
