Macroscopic modelling and analysis based on microscopic models for swarm systems [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports
Swarm systems, whether biological or artificial, often exhibit higher efficiency, robustness, and flexibility than individual entities, enabling them to accomplish tasks that individuals cannot achieve.

Comparing macroscopic continuum models for rarefied gas dynamics : a new test method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We propose a new test method for investigating which macroscopic continuum models, among the many existing models, give the best description of rarefied gas flows over a range of Knudsen numbers.

Macroscopic transport by synthetic molecular machines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Nature uses molecular motors and machines in virtually every significant biological process, but demonstrating that simpler artificial structures operating through the same gross mechanisms can be interfaced with—and perform physical tasks in—the ...

Simulation of Roughness and Surface Texture Evolution at Macroscopic Scale During Cylinder Honing Process [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The honing process produces surface liners with specific functional properties. Engine performances and life expectancy are directly impacted by the quality of honed surface.

Multi-physic system simplification method applied to a helicopter flight axis active control [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
A helicopter flight axis control, which is a complex multi-physic system, is modelled using an energetic based graphical tool: the Energetic Macroscopic Representation.

Feasibility of Osseous Landmarks for ACL Reconstruction—A Macroscopic Anatomical Study

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
During knee arthroscopy, easy orientation is important, and possible landmarks include the lateral intercondylar ridge (LIR) and the lateral bifurcate ridge (LBR).

Thalassemia: macroscopic and radiological study of a case

open access: yesInternational Journal of Osteoarchaeology, 2006
AbstractDifferentiation of the genetic and the acquired anaemias, particularly in areas of the world where they may co‐exist, has been a challenge for palaeopathologists for over 100 years. In this paper we present macroscopic and radiographic skeletal lesions that are associated with the thalassemias in a 14‐year‐old girl from a modern reference ...

Macroscopic and Microscopic Study of a CePdIn Compound

open access: yesActa Physica Polonica A, 2017
The magnetization and electrical resistivity measurements on a CePdIn single crystal as well as its preparation and structural characterization are presented. The negative paramagnetic Curie temperatures indicate antiferromagnetic ground state, the anisotropy of the paramagnetic Curie temperature amounts 22.7 K.
