Pure and Applied Geophysics, 2005
An anisotropic attenuation law, based on an anisotropic characterization of intensity distribution for seismogenic zones, is proposed. This approach, that distinguishes itself for its consistency to the observed data, initially reconfigured by filtering procedures, is particularly suitable for seismic hazard evaluation.

Influence of Observation Floor and Building Height on Macroseismic Intensity
Seismological Research Letters, 2012Online material : Distribution of data as a function of MCS intensity and distance; additional information about the intensity residuals and the applied statistical tests. It is well known that perception of transitory effects is quite dependent on an observer’s location.

EMS and MCS macroseismic intensities assessed in Italy are equivalent?
2020<p>The most of intensity assessments provided by the large (more than 100000 intensity observations) Italian macroseismic database (DBMI15) were made using the traditional Mercalli-Cancani-Sieberg (MCS) scale but in most recent macroseismic surveys in Italy even the European Macroseismic Scale (EMS) scale was used by some ...

Assessment of macroseismic intensity in the Nile basin, Egypt
Journal of Seismology, 2017This work intends to assess deterministic seismic hazard and risk analysis in terms of the maximum expected intensity map of the Egyptian Nile basin sector. Seismic source zone model of Egypt was delineated based on updated compatible earthquake catalog in 2015, focal mechanisms, and the common tectonic elements.

Macroseismic intensity prediction equations for Vrancea intermediate-depth seismic source
Natural Hazards, 2015This paper focuses on the development of a macroseismic intensity prediction equation (MIPE), for Vrancea intermediate-depth seismic source, that is able to differentiate between the sites located in the fore-arc and back-arc regions of the Carpathians Mountains.

Macroseismic intensity assessment
