Macrozoobenthos of subarctic lakes as an indicator of climate change

Èkologiâ
Changes in the macrozoobenthos of two northern lakes differing in degree of humification of water over the 50-year period that have passed since the first studies were considered. In the lake with water uncolored by humus, the benthos biomass increased, and in the humified one, it decreased.

Macrozoobenthos of a coastal lake in southern Brazil

Fundamental and Applied Limnology, 1997
Benthos of a coastal lake in southern Brazil, Lake Emboaba, was collected in summer and winter 1989/90 to describe the community and its spatial distribution, and to identify potential seasonal differences in composition and abundance. A total of 19 randomly distributed sites were sampled (van-Veen grab, 4 replicates, 500μm) on two dates.

MACROZOOBENTHOS OF THE LOWER REACHES OF THE USTYE RIVER

Transactions of Papanin Institute for Biology of Inland Waters RAS
In 2021-2022, the main characteristics of macrozoobenthos were studied and the water quality in the lower reaches of the Ustye River (Yaroslavl oblast) was assessed. A total of 105 lower defined taxa were recorded in the macrozoobenthos, the main representatives of which were chironomid larvae (37) and mollusks (14).

Macrozoobenthos as an Indicator of the Level of the Trophy and Saprobity of Lake Jarun

Acta hydrochimica et hydrobiologica, 1989
AbstractDuring complex ecological investigations on Lake Jarun (and neighbouring interstitial underground waters) which took place in 1984 and 1985, macrozoobenthos was also studied. Its qualitative and quantitative composition in a large part depends on the degree of trophy and saprobity of the water.

Effects of river pollution on the colonisation of artificial substrates by macrozoobenthos

Aquatic Toxicology, 2008
The impact of pesticides on macrobenthos communities was studied on two aquatic environments in Northern Italy; River Meolo, a site exposed to agricultural pollution, and River Upper Livenza a low pollution reference site. Colonisation of artificial substrates was compared throughout the productive season.

Macrozoobenthos of Vrana Lake on the Island of Cres

1998
Vrana Lake, on the island of Cres in the Adriatic Sea, represents a specific karstic phenomenon. Due to its isolation, oligotrophy and relative youth(only 10,000 years old), species richness and abundance are very low. Only seventeen groups of macroinvertebrates inhabit the lake bottom.

Macrozoobenthos of Communities of Higher Aquatic Vegetation

Biologiâ vnutrennih vod
The article presents the results of a comprehensive study of two components of the aquatic biocenosis: its floristic component and benthos in the shallow waters of the Gorky reservoir within the water area of the Yaroslavsky nature reserve. The composition and structure of plant communities at the boundary of the macrophyte belt was assessed, followed ...

Effects of Closure of the Grevelingen Estuary on Survival and Development of Macrozoobenthos

1981
As a consequence of big hydraulic engineering schemes within the framework of the so-called Delta project, the Grevelingen estuary (SW Netherlands) has gone through several stages during the last two decades.
