Connexin 43‐Enriched Vesicles Improve Synchronization in hiPSC‐Derived Cardiomyocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Plasma membrane‐derived Connectosomes enriched in connexin‐43 are produced from donor hiPSCs and applied to hiPSC‐derived cardiomyocytes (hiPSC‐CMs). Connexin‐43 channels on Connectosomes remain functional, strengthening intercellular electrochemical coupling and increasing network synchronization over time.

Why Mad Studies Needs Survivor Research and Survivor Research Needs Mad Studies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Mad Studies and survivor research are emerging fields of enquiry whose goals and boundaries are continually being shaped. This paper aims to explore intersections between the two fields and argues that fostering a stronger relationship could bring strengths to each.

Interaction study of MADS-domain proteins in tomato [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Botany, 2008
MADS-domain proteins are important transcription factors involved in many biological processes of plants. Interactions between MADS-domain proteins are essential for their functions. In tomato (Solanum lycopersicum), the number of MIKC(c)-type MADS-domain proteins identified has totalled 36, but a large-scale interaction assay is lacking. In this study,

Diffusion–Model–Driven Discovery of Ferroelectrics for Photocurrent Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We developed a diffusion model–based generative AI and high‐throughput screening framework that accelerates the discovery of photovoltaic ferroelectrics. By coupling AI driven crystal generation with machine learning and DFT screening, we identified Ca3P2 and LiCdP as new ferroelectric materials exhibiting strong polarization, feasible switching ...

S100A14 in Tumor‐Derived EVs Targets PIAS3 to Reprogram Astrocytes and Induce Immunosuppressive Microenvironment Promoting Brain Metastasis and Germacrone Reversal Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies S100A14 in tumor‐derived exosomes as a key driver of brain metastasis. S100A14 targets PIAS3 in astrocytes, activating STAT3 signaling and promoting immunosuppressive MDSCs recruitment via chemokine secretion. Germacrone, a natural compound, binds S100A14 to disrupt this axis, effectively inhibiting brain metastasis with low ...

Tom40 functions as a channel for protein retrotranslocation in the mitochondria-associated degradation (MAD) pathway

open access: yesCommunications Biology
The mitochondria-associated degradation pathway (MAD) mediates removal and elimination of damaged, unfolded mitochondrial proteins by the ubiquitin-proteasome system (UPS).

Prospects for B-Decay Studies at the LHC

open access: yes, 2008
In this decade, there are huge efforts to explore B-meson decays, which offer interesting probes to test the quark-flavour structure of the Standard Model and to search for signals of new physics.
