Maduromycosis due to Madurella grisea

While in Mexico a 34-year-old woman injured her left foot with a cactus. This resulted in the development of black grain maduromycosis due to Madurella grisea . Prolonged griseofulvin therapy had no effect on this condition. This is believed to be the fifth case of maduromycosis from M grisea seen in the United States and probably the first instance of

Abstract 1. 1) A method of sensitizing guinea-pigs to certain mycetoma-causing fungi is described. 2. 2) Their skin reactivity to various antigens derived from these organisms is described. 3. 3) The ability of skin tests in sensitized guinea-pigs to differentiate between organisms causing mycetoma is well defined.

Eumicetoma da Madurella Micetomatis

Descriviamo il caso di una paziente etiope affetta da da piede di madura da circa otto anni. Il nostro caso clinico evidenzia come anche terapie chirurgiche radicali in associazione a prolungata terapia anticotica sistemica richiedano un follow-up del paziente diversi anni dopo il trattamento per escudere eventuali recidive anche molto tardive.

[Madurella mycetomatis antigen for the serodiagnosis of mycetoma].

The aim of this work was to standardize metabolic and cytoplasmic Madurella mycetomatis antigen to be applied in the immunodiagnosis of mycetoma. Growth curves were established growing the mold in two broth media with weekly measures of protein and carbohydrate levels and of dry weight.
