Evaluating Cytocompatibility of Corynebacterium glutamicum‐poly Vinyl Alcohol Living Biomaterials for Ocular Use

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
In ophthalmology, living biomaterials such as living contact lenses appear promising for sustained drug delivery or biosensing. The cytocompatibility of Cg‐PVA hydrogels, developed as a model living contact lens, is investigated with the ocular surface, showing their potential translation to the clinic.

Early‐life antibiotic exposure aggravates hepatic steatosis through enhanced endotoxemia and lipotoxic effects driven by gut Parabacteroides

open access: yesMedComm
Compelling evidence supports a link between early‐life gut microbiota and the metabolic outcomes in later life. Using an early‐life antibiotic exposure model in BALB/c mice, we investigated the life‐course impact of prenatal and/or postnatal antibiotic ...

LDI, A Lipid Droplet Inhibitor, Disrupts Lipid Accumulation and Modulates Hepatic Lipid Profiles in Fatty Liver

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The lipid droplet inhibitor (LDI), templated with large‐pore mesoporous silica and functionalized with PKCα C1A and lipase, targets lipid degradation in fatty liver. The LDI maintains stable association with lipid droplets, thereby suppressing their formation and expansion.

Radiation Effects in Electret Organic Thin‐Film Transistors Due to High Flux and High Dose X‐Ray Irradiation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Electret‐style organic thin‐film transistors are evaluated for synchrotron X‐ray dosimetry at ultra‐high dose rates, showing promising performance and agreement with standard detectors. XPS and NEXAFS reveal radiation‐induced oxidation and Fermi level shifts in pentacene and polystyrene, correlating with reduced charge carrier mobility and providing ...
