Maglev vehicles-raising transportation advances of the ground

IEEE Potentials, 1996
Maglev as a practical concept was first proposed by the authors in 1966. The concept was based on using lightweight, very high current superconducting loops suitably positioned on a streamlined vehicle. As the vehicle moves along a guideway containing loops of ordinary aluminum wire at ambient temperature, the superconducting loops induce small ...

Vibration Characteristic Analysis of Elevated Maglev Transportation

ICTE 2015, 2015
A field measurement of vibration was performed on the Shanghai Maglev Train Line in China. In the paper, according to the data measured, characteristics of vertical vibration attenuation of the elevated maglev transportation are analyzed. Variations of vertical acceleration level of ground vibration in relation with train speed are investigated.

A New System of Combined Propulsion and Levitation for Maglev Transportation

2020 IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition (APEC), 2020
This article presents a novel system for magnetic levitation (Maglev) transportation which achieves both electromagnetic levitation and propulsion using a series of asymmetric double sided linear induction motors (ADSLIMs) with a simple conductive plate secondary.

A High-Temperature Superconducting Maglev-Evacuated Tube Transport (HTS Maglev-ETT) Test System

IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity, 2017
As a bellwether transportation mode, albeit with hot controversy, evacuated tube transport (ETT) can dramatically reduce air friction, and incorporating Maglev technology could also thoroughly eliminate wheel-rail friction. It is not difficult to imagine that incorporation of these two technologies could establish an innovative transportation system ...

Miniature Maglev Vehicles for Personal Non-Stop Transportation

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1991
<div class="htmlview paragraph">The People Pods Maglev transportation concept (<span class="xref">fig 1</span>) uses extremely light weight, 200 pound electric vehicles that are aerodynamic, non-polluting and carry two passengers. While traveling at 100 MPH on a monorail track system (safely above all other heavier traffic) a pod ...

Critical Control of the Suspension for a Maglev Transport System

2005
A problem that occurs frequently in control engineering is to control the output of a system so that the output is maintained within strict bounds. Violation of the bounds results in unacceptable and perhaps catastrophic operation. A system of this kind is said to be critical and can be dealt with by the design framework built upon the principles of ...

Current Status of Maglev Transportation System in the World

1990
At present, among maglevs driven by normal-conducting electromagnetic suspension systems or superconducting electrodynamic suspension systems in the world, some have reached the stage of commercial operation, while others are still in the stage of test runs.

Software Design Considerations for a Personal Maglev Transportation System

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1992
<div class="htmlview paragraph">The People Pods™ transportation concept for commuters is based on extremely light weight, 200 pound, advanced composite, two passenger Maglev vehicles traveling on a monorail system above all other traffic.</div> <div class="htmlview paragraph">To provide on demand, point to point transportation ...
