Topologically ordered magnesium-biopolymer hybrid composite structures [PDF]
Magnesium and its alloys are intriguing as possible biodegradable biomaterials due to their unique combination of biodegradability and high specific mechanical properties. However, uncontrolled biodegradation of magnesium during implantation remains a major challenge in spite of the use of alloying and protective coatings.

ABSTRACT Magnesium (Mg2+) is essential for energy metabolism, muscle contraction and neurotransmission. As part of the Mg–ATP complex, it is involved in over 600 enzymatic reactions. Serum Mg2+ levels are tightly regulated between 0.7 and 1.1 mmol/L by interplay of intestinal absorption and renal excretion.

Superconductivity in the metallic-oxidized magnesium interface [PDF]
Metastable superconductivity at 39 - 54 K in the interfaces formed by metallic and oxidized magnesium (MgO) has been observed by ac magnetic susceptibility measurements. The superconducting interfaces have been produced by the surface oxidation of metallic magnesium under special conditions.

Effect of tension on edge crack of on-line heating rolled AZ31B magnesium alloy sheet
Edge crack is a common defect in the rolled magnesium alloy sheet which increase the rolling cost. In this study, the effect of tension on the edge crack of AZ31B sheet rolled with on-line heating rolling was investigated.

Microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of the Mg-Sm-Gd-Zn-Zr alloy during extrusion
Mg-2.6Sm-1.3Gd-0.6Zn-0.5Zr (wt.%) alloy is prepared with metal mold casting and followed hot extruded at 400°C with the extrusion ratio of 25:1. Microstructure and mechanical properties of the as-extruded alloy are investigated using optical microscope ...

LHCPs are transported to the thylakoid membrane via the (cp)SRP pathway. This process involves a transit complex of (cp)SRP43, (cp)SRP54 and LHCP, which interacts with (cp)FtsY and Alb3 at the membrane. GTP hydrolysis by (cp)SRP54 and (cp)FtsY triggers complex dissociation.
