Determination of Magnesium in Magnesium Sulfate and Solution of Magnesium Citrate*

Journal of the American Pharmaceutical Association (Scientific ed.), 1946
Abstract Magnesium Citrate Solution and Magnesium Sulfate were assayed by oxine and by pyro‐phosphate procedures and the results compared. Precipitation of the magnesium as the oxyquinolate is recommended as the preferred method.

Intracellular magnesium and magnesium buffering.

Biometals : an international journal on the role of metal ions in biology, biochemistry, and medicine, 2002
The development of new techniques for measuring intracellular free Mg2+ during the 1980s has provided investigators with the tools needed to produce new insights into the regulation of cellular magnesium. Within the limits of this technology, it appears that all mammalian cells maintain free cytosolic Mg2+ levels within the fairly narrow range of 0.25 ...

Corrosion mechanisms of magnesium alloys

, 1999
The high strength to weight ratio of magnesium alloys makes them extremely attractive for applications in transport or aerospace technology. However, their corrosion behavior is a major issue and one reason why they are still not as popular as aluminum ...

Magnesium in pregnancy

Nutrition Reviews, 2016
Magnesium deficiency is prevalent in women of childbearing age in both developing and developed countries. The need for magnesium increases during pregnancy, and the majority of pregnant women likely do not meet this increased need. Magnesium deficiency or insufficiency during pregnancy may pose a health risk for both the mother and the newborn, with ...

Magnesium Isotope Geochemistry

, 2017
Magnesium (Mg) has an atomic number of 12 and belongs to the alkaline earth element (Group II) of the Periodic Table. The pure Mg is a silvery white metal and has a melting point of 650 °C and boiling point of 1090 °C at 1 standard atmosphere (Lide 1993 ...

Magnesium in obstetrics

Best Practice & Research Clinical Obstetrics & Gynaecology, 2010
Magnesium is a critical physiological ion, and magnesium deficiency might contribute to the development of pre-eclampsia, to impaired neonatal development and to metabolic problems extending into adult life. Pharmacologically, magnesium is a calcium antagonist with substantial vasodilator properties but without myocardial depression.
