Studies on Nutrient Deficiencies in Tea Plant by Water Culture (Part 1)

open access: yesChagyo Kenkyu Hokoku (Tea Research Journal), 1956
The water culture method and some nutrient deficiency symptoms of the young tea plant were investigated. The supply of oxygen was most important in water culture of the tea plant and in this experiment, oxygen was supplied by renewal of the culture solution once four days and addition of 3% H2O2 into the culture solution every morning and evening ...

Multi transitions in MgB2 films prepared by pulsed laser deposition [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2004
We have grown MgB2 films in a postannealing process. Precursors were prepared on Al2O3(0001) substrates by codeposition of Mg and MgB2 using pulsed laser deposition technique. Superconducting MgB2 thin films were obtained via an ex situ postannealing process, with various annealing temperatures and durations.

VLT Observations of Turnoff stars in the Globular Cluster NGC 6397 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
VLT-UVES high resolution spectra of seven turnoff stars in the metal-poor globular cluster NGC 6397 have been obtained. Atmospheric parameters and abundances of several elements (Li, Na, Mg, Ca, Sc, Ti, Cr, Fe, Ni, Zn and Ba) were derived for program stars. The mean iron abundance is [Fe/H] = -2.02, with no star-to-star variation.

Pharmacological effects of osimertinib on a chicken chorioallantoic membrane xenograft model with the EGFR exon‐19‐deleted advanced NSCLC mutation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Osimertinib reduces angiogenesis and PDL1 expression in in ovo tumors, transforming them into ‘cold tumors’ with lower immune activity. Anatomopathological and transcriptomic analyses highlight its therapeutic impact on tumor biology. This study underscores osimertinib's potential to reshape the tumor microenvironment and provides insights into its ...

EFFECT OF INSTANTANEOUS LIGHT INTENSITY AFTER MAGNESIUM SUPPRESSION IN TOMATO AND BELL PEPPER CULTIVATION

open access: yesRevista de Agricultura Neotropical
Plants dynamically respond to varying light intensities, which may further interact with their nutrient status to affect gas exchange parameters. This study investigated the combined effect of instantaneous light intensity and magnesium suppression on ...

Upregulation of DWARF27 is associated with increased strigolactone levels under sulfur deficiency in rice

open access: yesPlant Direct, 2018
Plants produce strigolactones (SLs) in roots in response to nitrogen or phosphate deficiency. To evaluate SL levels under other mineral deficiencies in rice, we cultivated rice seedlings in hydroponic media without nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, sulfur,

Bioengineering facets of the tumor microenvironment in 3D tumor models: insights into cellular, biophysical and biochemical interactions

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The tumor microenvironment is a dynamic, multifaceted complex system of interdependent cellular, biochemical, and biophysical components. Three‐dimensional in vitro models of the tumor microenvironment enable a better understanding of these interactions and their impact on cancer progression and therapeutic resistance.

MicroRNA-mediated responses to long-term magnesium-deficiency in Citrus sinensis roots revealed by Illumina sequencing

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2017
Background Magnesium (Mg)-deficiency occurs most frequently in strongly acidic, sandy soils. Citrus are grown mainly on acidic and strong acidic soils. Mg-deficiency causes poor fruit quality and low fruit yield in some Citrus orchards.

METTL3 knockout accelerates hepatocarcinogenesis via inhibiting endoplasmic reticulum stress response

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Liver‐specific knockout of N6‐methyladenosine (m6A) methyltransferase METTL3 significantly accelerated hepatic tumor initiation under various oncogenic challenges, contrary to the previously reported oncogenic role of METTL3 in liver cancer cell lines or xenograft models. Mechanistically, METTL3 deficiency reduced m6A deposition on Manf transcripts and

Abundances of four very metal-poor stars of the BPS survey [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 1994
High resolution CASPEC and EMMI spectra (R$\approx$10$^4$) of the faint metal- deficient candidates CS 22891--209, CS 22897--8, CS 22948--66 and CS 22968--14 taken from the survey of Beers, Preston and Shectman (1985, BPS) are analyzed for abundances. The fine analysis with LTE model atmospheres gives an iron metallicity for the four stars between $-$3.
