Nondestructive testing method of SiCp particle dispersion in SiCp/AZ91D magnesium matrix composites

open access: yesCailiao gongcheng, 2023
SiCp/AZ91D magnesium matrix composites are widely used in the aerospace field, but there is less report on the distribution of SiCp particles in SiCp/AZ91D magnesium matrix composites by ultrasonic testing methods at home and abroad.

Effect of multi-pass friction stir processing on the microstructure evolution and corrosion behavior of ZrO2/AZ31 magnesium matrix composite

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2022
Most of magnesium matrix composites processed by traditional technique have poor anti-corrosion and biological performance, because of uneven microstructure, especially for nonuniform distribution of reinforced particles.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Achieving high modulus and strength in ultra-light Mg-Li alloys through in situ-synthesized Mg2Si phase

open access: yesJournal of Magnesium and Alloys
Enhancing the low modulus and absolute strength of Mg-Li alloys remains a key research focus. This study employed an in situ-synthesis strategy to incorporate high-modulus phases, such as Mg2Si, achieving a synergistic improvement in strength, plasticity,

Magnesium matrix composites as interesting HIDAMETS

open access: yesMetallic Materials, 2011
Metal matrix composites, made of Mg or Mg-2wt.%Si matrices reinforced with C or SiC long fibres, were processed by gas-pressure infiltration. Such composites are an advantageous solution for developing light metallic materials, which exhibit simultaneously good mechanical properties and a high damping capacity.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Mixed‐class J‐domain protein scaffolds promote expanded aggregate handling and multivalent Hsp70 engagement during functional disaggregase assembly

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein aggregates threaten proteostasis and cell health. In human cells, Hsp70–J‐domain protein‐based disaggregases remove aggregates, but how they assemble remains unclear. Our biochemical findings show that DNAJA2‐ and DNAJB1‐containing disaggregase scaffolds enhance luciferase aggregate targeting, and that Hsp70 recruitment by both J‐domain ...

Fabrication and mechanical properties of high-strength AZ61Mg‒18%Ti composites

open access: yesFenmo yejin jishu, 2021
The AZ61Mg‒18%Ti (mass fraction) composites were prepared by mechanical milling, vacuum hot pressing, and hot extrusion. The microstructure, room-temperature mechanical properties, and the corresponding strengthening mechanism were studied.
