Eddy-current testing by flexible microloop magnetic sensor array
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1998A flexible microloop magnetic sensor array has been developed for nondestructive evaluation in nuclear power plants and its fundamental characteristics have been investigated. A flexible micro-eddy current testing (micro-ECT) probe consists of a pancake-type exciting coil of the diameter of 3.2 /spl mu/m and a flexible microloop magnetic sensor array ...

Probe Localization by Magnetic Measurements in Eddy-Current Nondestructive Testing Environment
2018 5th IEEE International Workshop on Metrology for AeroSpace (MetroAeroSpace), 2018Localization of eddy current probe in Nondestructive Testing allows merging the information of defect detection with positions. Typically, this task requires the usage of additional and costly position measurement systems or software assisted handlers in controlled laboratory conditions.

Magnetic sensors assessment in velocity induced eddy current testing
Sensors and Actuators A: Physical, 2015Abstract This paper presents an enhancement in the probes to be used on a new nondestructive testing method with eddy currents induced by velocity. In this method, a permanent magnet that is attached to a moving carriage creates eddy currents in the conductive material to be inspected.

Eddy current tomography for testing of ferromagnetic and non-magnetic materials
Measurement Science and Technology, 2014This paper presents an eddy current tomography setup with high spatial resolution and high accuracy of measurements of the signal on the detection coil. In the proposed solution both amplitude and phase shift are measured, which makes it possible to calculate the spatial distribution of both permeability and resistivity of the tested element.

Design and test validation of a novel permanent magnet eddy current brake
International Journal of Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics, 2022Aiming at slippage and belt breakage of large mechanical conveyor belts, a new type of water-cooled permanent magnet brake (WPMB) is proposed. In order to determine the braking performance of WPMB, a multi-physics coupling model and analysis method of magneto-thermal-structure are built. The braking torque and temperature characteristics of WPMB under

Micro eddy current testing by micro magnetic sensor array
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1995A micro Eddy Current Testing (ECT) system for planar thin specimens made of INCONEL 600 with flaws was proposed and developed. A micro ECT probe used here consists of a conventional pancake-type coil as an exciting coil and a micro magnetic sensor array as a set of pickup coils.
