Value of MRI Outcomes for Preventive and Early‐Stage Trials in Spinocerebellar Ataxias 1 and 3
ABSTRACT Objective To examine the value of MRI outcomes as endpoints for preventive and early‐stage trials of two polyglutamine spinocerebellar ataxias (SCAs). Methods A cohort of 100 participants (23 SCA1, 63 SCA3, median Scale for the Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) score = 5, 42% preataxic, and 14 gene‐negative controls) was scanned at 3T up ...

Hybrid torque and SQUID magnetometry of individual magnetic nanotubes [PDF]
For the experiments presented in this thesis, a hybrid magnetometer consisting of a ultra sensitive Si cantilever and a nano-scale superconducting quantum interference device (nanoSQUID) sensitive enough to measure a single nanoscale magnetic particle ...

Magnetic anisotropy in UTX compounds [PDF]
Abstract We compare results of measurements of magnetization, specific heat, electrical resistivity and neutron diffraction on single crystals and oriented polycrystalline powders of various UTX compounds. Very strong anisotropy, persisting also in the paramagnetic state, is a general feature of these materials.

ABSTRACT Objective To explore how cerebral hypoxia and Normal‐Appearing White Matter (NAWM) integrity affect MS lesion burden and clinical course. Methods Seventy‐nine MS patients, including 13 clinically isolated syndrome (CIS) patients and 66 relapsing–remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) patients, and 44 healthy controls (HCs) were recruited from ...

LLB MACRO-SPIN MODELLING OF NANOGRANULAR L1o FePt HIGH ANISOTROPY THIN FILMS [PDF]
New recording media and recording methods are required if magnetic data storage is to continue the historic growth seen in the areal density, beyond the level currently imposed by the superparamagnetic limit.

Nanocrystalline M-type hexaferrite powders: preparation, geometric and magnetic propertiess
Co-Ti-Sn-Ge substituted M-type bariumhexaferrite powders with mean grain sizes between about 10 nm and about 1 ¿m and a narrow size distribution were prepared reproducibly by means of a modified glass crystallization method.
