Adaptive Proportional Derivative Control for Magnetic Bearing in Full Maglev Left Ventricular Assist Device

open access: yesMeasurement Science Review
In this paper, adaptive proportional derivative (APD) parameter control was proposed to solve the problem of high power consumption caused by the unclear mechanism of liquid disturbance during the lifting-up of magnetic bearing in left ventricular assist

Design, Modeling and Control of Magnetic Bearings for a Ring-Type Flywheel Energy Storage System

open access: yesEnergies, 2016
This study is concerned with the magnetic force models of magnetic bearing in a flywheel energy storage system (FESS). The magnetic bearing is of hybrid type, with axial passive magnetic bearing (PMB) and radial hybrid magnetic bearing (HMB). For the PMB,

Functional and Structural Evidence of Neurofluid Circuit Aberrations in Huntington Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Disrupted neurofluid regulation may contribute to neurodegeneration in Huntington disease (HD). Because neurofluid pathways influence waste clearance, inflammation, and the distribution of central nervous system (CNS)–delivered therapeutics, understanding their dysfunction is increasingly important as targeted treatments emerge.

Development and Validation of a Standardized Evaluation Procedure for Marine Application of Magnetic Bearing-Based Rotating Machinery

open access: yes한국해양공학회지
Unlike conventional bearings, magnetic bearings (MBs) provide non-contact support and high reliability, but standardized evaluation criteria for marine environments have not yet been established.

Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathy due to Biallelic Pathogenic Variants in PIGM

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective PIGM encodes a critical enzyme in the glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)‐anchor biosynthesis pathway. While promoter‐region mutations in PIGM have been associated with a relatively mild phenotype characterized by portal vein thrombosis and absence seizures, recent evidence suggests that coding‐region mutations result in a more severe

Optimization of the Structure of an Induction Motor with Magnetic Bearings [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Research and Technology in Electrical Industry
Although conventional high-speed gas turbines and electric motors equipped with mechanical gearboxes are practical solutions, they face significant environmental constraints and suffer from the inefficiencies associated with mechanical converters.

Preferences for post‐traumatic osteoarthritis prevention strategies in individuals with anterior cruciate ligament injury

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objectives There is growing interest in evaluating new strategies to delay or prevent post‐traumatic osteoarthritis (PTOA) in individuals who have sustained anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. This study sought to determine characteristics of potential treatments that are acceptable to patients with ACL injury.

Effect of Foot Orthoses on Midfoot Pain and the Volume of Bone Marrow Lesions in the Midfoot: A Randomized Mechanism of Action Study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Foot orthoses are thought to improve pain by potentially modifying internal mechanical forces. To test this, we explored whether foot orthoses can modify patterns of bone marrow lesions (BMLs) in people with midfoot pain. Methods Forty‐two people were recruited with midfoot pain, and magnetic resonance imaging–confirmed midfoot BMLs ...

Modeling and Decoupling Control for Rotor System in Magnetic Levitation Wind Turbine

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
This study proposes an accurate mathematical model and a novel decoupling scheme for developing a 5-degrees-of-freedom rotor system of a wind turbine with high robustness, fast response and good-tracking properties.

Current Tracking Adaptive Control of Brushless DC Motors

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
In this paper, the current tracking for Brushless Direct Current motors is approached considering uncertainty in the parameters of the motor's model. An adaptive control scheme to compensate electrical parameters uncertainty is proposed without requiring any knowledge of the mechanical parameters.
