Reducing Undesirable Vibration of Rotating Payload Connected to Spacecraft Using Magnetic Bearing

open access: yesAerospace
The control accuracy and stability requirements for rotating payloads in remote sensing satellites are becoming increasingly higher. Typically, rotating payloads such as cameras are connected to the satellite body through mechanical bearings.

An Overview of Bearing Candidates for the Next Generation of Reusable Liquid Rocket Turbopumps

open access: yesChinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering, 2020
There is a consensus in the aerospace field that the development of reusable liquid rockets can effectively reduce the launch expense. The pursuit of a long service life and reutilization highly depends on the bearing components.

Analysis and Experiment of 5-DOF Decoupled Spherical Vernier-Gimballing Magnetically Suspended Flywheel (VGMSFW)

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Due to the capacity of outputting both the high precision torque and the instantaneous large torque, the vernier-gimballing magnetically suspended flywheel (VGMSFW) is regarded as the key actuator for spacecraft.

Structure Design and Optimization of the Radial Magnetic Bearing

open access: yesActuators, 2023
According to different working environments and functional requirements, radial magnetic bearings (RMBs) have various design methods. Some methods’ lack of effectiveness or accuracy is likely to cause significant differences in the structural performance

European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline and EXPeRT Recommendations for the Diagnosis and Management of Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms in Children and Adolescents

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

Vibration reduction in a hollow-shaft rotor using flexibly-mounted internal-stator magnetic bearings

open access: yesMechanical Engineering Journal, 2017
A topology composed of a hollow-shaft rotor on rolling element bearings coupled with internal-stator magnetic bearings mounted on independently supported flexible shafts is considered for the purposes of vibration reduction. Details of a bespoke test rig

Determination of parameters for a design of the stable electro-dynamic passive magnetic support of a high-speed flexible rotor [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Polish Academy of Sciences: Technical Sciences, 2019
Electro-dynamic passive magnetic bearings are now viewed as a feasible option when looking for support for high-speed rotors. Nevertheless, because of the skew-symmetrical visco-elastic properties of such bearings, they are prone to operational ...

Rapid Response to Trametinib Combined With Chemotherapy for Infant BRAF‐Fused Chiasmatic Glioma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Infants, less than 1 year, with chiasmatic gliomas (ICG) present a major therapeutic challenge due to large tumor size, decreased vision, rapid progression, and poor response to vincristine/carboplatin chemotherapy. The majority have a BRAF fusion, which may respond to downstream MEK inhibitors but response time is slow. There are no safety or

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.
