Efficient magnetic microactuator with an enclosed magnetic core
Journal of Micro/Nanolithography, MEMS, and MOEMS, 2002An efficient spiral-type magnetic microactuator design, composed of an enclosed core and a magnetic plate, is presented to produce a high magnetic flux density, a large force, and a large displacement. The design allows a large variation in area of the Permalloy plate and then the area of the poles can optimally enlarge with the fixed area of the ...

Vortex Core-Driven Magnetization Dynamics
Science, 2004Time-resolved x-ray imaging shows that the magnetization dynamics of a micron-sized pattern containing a ferromagnetic vortex is determined by its handedness, or chirality. The out-of-plane magnetization in the nanometer-scale vortex core induces a three-dimensional handedness in the planar magnetic structure, leading to a precessional motion of the ...

Magnetically Confined Plasma with a Maxwellian Core
Physical Review, 1962While a magnetically confined plasma cannot have a Maxwellian velocity distribution at each point, it is shown that a high beta Maxwellian plasma containing no magnetic fields can exist when separated by a non-Maxwellian boundary layer from the region of no plasma and homogeneous confining magnetic field. Magnetic photocatalysts of the core-shell type
Photochemical & Photobiological Sciences, 2002Two magnetic core-shell type photocatalytic systems are presented: first, Zn0.35Ni0.65Fe2,O4-SiO2-TiO2, showed high activity in the photooxidation of oxalate, and the other, Fe3O4-Fe2O3-polyaniline: P2W18O62(6-), was tested in the reaction of SO2 photooxidation.

A new nondestructive read for magnetic cores
Proceedings of the March 1-3, 1955, western joint computer conference on - AFIPS '55 (Western), 1955A simple but effective method has been developed for reading information from ferrite storage cores without destroying the information. A single ferrite core containing a small radial hole is used per stored bit. A wire is threaded through the hole and a current pulse is passed down the wire to interrogate the core.

Diode-Steered Magnetic-Core Memory
IEEE Transactions on Electronic Computers, 1959This paper describes techniques which take advantage of word arrangement to make possible large, high-speed magnetic-core memories at moderate cost. Economy is obtained by means of a two-coordinate selection system using diffused junction rectifiers as steering diodes.

A medium-speed magnetic core memory
Papers presented at the February 26-28, 1957, western joint computer conference: Techniques for reliability on - IRE-AIEE-ACM '57 (Western), 1957The steady evolution of the state of the art in coincident current magnetic core memories leads constantly in the direction of an all-transistor system of appreciable proportions. Several organizations have been at work in this field, but the system herein described is the first of its type.

A Transistor-Driven Magnetic-Core Memory
IEEE Transactions on Electronic Computers, 1957A transistor-driven magnetic-core memory which has a capacity of 1024 18-bit words has been built and is being studied. Both the read and write operations employ the coincident-current technique. The memory-drive currents are developed by transistors and the desired memory location is selected by magnetic-core selection switches.
