Conductance measurement of spin-orbit coupling in the two-dimensional electron systems with in-plane magnetic field [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We consider determination of spin-orbit (SO) coupling constants for the two-dimensional electron gas from measurements of electric properties in rotated in-plane magnetic field.

Optimization study on misalignment tolerance of a wireless power transfer system with double-layer vertical DD coils

open access: yesWireless Power Transfer
To address the issue of coil misalignment in magnetically coupled wireless power transfer (WPT) systems, which causes fluctuations in mutual inductance, a reduction in the magnetic coupling coefficient, and a decline in transmission efficiency, this ...

Fast and Accurate 2D Analytical Subdomain Method for Coaxial Magnetic Coupling Analysis

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
Magnetic couplings (MCs) enable contactless speed/torque transmission via interactions between the magnetic fields of permanent magnets (PMs) rather than a physical mechanical connection.

Measurement of Untruncated Nuclear Spin Interactions via Zero- to Ultra-Low-Field Nuclear Magnetic Resonance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Zero- to ultra-low-field nuclear magnetic resonance (ZULF NMR) provides a new regime for the measurement of nuclear spin-spin interactions free from effects of large magnetic fields, such as truncation of terms that do not commute with the Zeeman ...

Multilayered Balanced Dual-Band Bandpass Filter Based on Magnetically Coupled Open-Loop Resonators with Intrinsic Common-Mode Rejection

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
A new dual-band balanced bandpass filter based on magnetically coupled open-loop resonators in multilayer technology is proposed in this paper. The lower differential passband, centered at the Global Positioning System (GPS) L1 frequency, 1.575 GHz, was ...

A Magnetically Coupled Electromagnetic Energy Harvester with Low Operating Frequency for Human Body Kinetic Energy

open access: yesMicromachines, 2021
In this paper, a magnetically coupled electromagnetic energy harvester (MCEEH) is proposed for harvesting human body kinetic energy. The proposed MCEEH mainly consists of a pair of spring-connected magnets, coils, and a free-moving magnet.

Pseudoscalar Photon Mixing In A Magnetized Medium

open access: yes, 2005
Axions are pseudo-scalar particles, those arise because of breaking of Peccei Queen (PQ) symmetry. Axions have a tree level coupling to two photons. As a consequence there exists a tree level coupling of axion to photon in a magnetic field.

Magnetic Proximity Effect and Interlayer Exchange Coupling of Ferromagnetic/Topological Insulator/Ferromagnetic Trilayer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Magnetic proximity effect between topological insulator (TI) and ferromagnetic insulator (FMI) is considered to have great potential in spintronics. However, a complete determination of interfacial magnetic structure has been highly challenging.

Frequency Modulation Approach for High Power Density 100 Hz Piezoelectric Vibration Energy Harvester

open access: yesSensors, 2022
Piezoelectric vibration energy harvester (PVEH) is a promising device for sustainable power supply of wireless sensor nodes (WSNs). PVEH is resonant and generates power under constant frequency vibration excitation of mechanical equipment.

PARP inhibitors elicit distinct transcriptional programs in homologous recombination competent castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PARP inhibitors are used to treat a small subset of prostate cancer patients. These studies reveal that PARP1 activity and expression are different between European American and African American prostate cancer tissue samples. Additionally, different PARP inhibitors cause unique and overlapping transcriptional changes, notably, p53 pathway upregulation.
