ACCRETION ONTO A MAGNETIC DIPOLE: RESULTS OF 2D NUMERICAL SIMULATIONS

open access: yesOdessa Astronomical Publications, 2017
Different regimes of accretion to a star with a dipole magnetic field were investigated using 2D numerical axisymmetric resistive MHD simulations. Numerical technique was improved over our recently published results (Toropin et al., 1999, referred as T99

Magnetic phase diagram of a spin-1 condensate in two dimensions with dipole interaction

open access: yes, 2010
Several new features arise in the ground-state phase diagram of a spin-1 condensate trapped in an optical trap when the magnetic dipole interaction between the atoms is taken into account along with confinement and spin precession. The boundaries between

Impact of Surface Functionalization on NV Quantum Properties: Implications for Biosensing with Fluorescent Nanodiamonds

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Fluorescent nanodiamonds (fNDs) have emerged as an invaluable quantum sensing platform for biological and biochemical systems. This paper investigates the influence of common surface functionalization strategies for bioconjugation on the quantum properties of nitrogen vacancy (NV) centers in nanodiamonds.

Decoherence of quantum local fisher and uncertainty information in two-qubit NV centers

open access: yesScientific Reports
This study aims to investigate the decoherence of the quantum correlation dynamics of two qubit nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centres through local quantum uncertainty (LQU), local quantum Fisher information (LQFI), and concurrence.

Enhanced terahertz magnetic dipole response by subwavelength fiber

open access: yesAPL Photonics, 2018
Dielectric sub-wavelength particles have opened up a new platform for realization of magnetic light. Recently, we have demonstrated that a dipole emitter by a sub-wavelength fiber leads to an enhanced magnetic response.

Composite magnetic dark matter and the 130 GeV line

open access: yes, 2012
We propose an economical model to explain the apparent 130 GeV gamma ray peak, found in the Fermi/LAT data, in terms of dark matter annihilation through a dipole moment interaction. The annihilating dark matter particles represent a subdominant component,

Orientation memory of magnetic dipoles

open access: yesPhysical Review D
We study the precession caused by electromagnetic radiation on a magnetic dipole located far from the source. As we show, this entails a net rotation of the dipole in the plane orthogonal to the direction of wave propagation, providing an electromagnetic analogue of gyroscopic gravitational memory.

Coexisting Rashba/Dresselhaus Spin Splitting in Solution‐Processed Bournonite Films Using Circular Photogalvanic Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Circular photogalvanic effect measurements and first‐principles calculations reveal spin‐splitting states in solution‐processed bournonite films (CuPbSbS3) due to structural and bulk inversion asymmetry. The results provide experimental confirmation of coexisting Rashba and Dresselhaus spin‐splitting states in this non‐centrosymmetric chalcogenide ...

On the form factors of $d^*(2380)$

open access: yes, 2018
In order to explore the possible physical quantities for judging different structures of the newly observed resonance $d^*(2380)$, we study its electromagnetic form factors.
