Single-spin scanning magnetic microscopy with radial basis function reconstruction algorithm

open access: yes, 2020
Exotic magnetic structures, such as magnetic skyrmions and domain walls, are becoming more important in nitrogen-vacancy center scanning magnetometry. However, a systematic imaging approach to mapping stray fields with fluctuation of several milliteslas ...

Artificial Intelligence in Systemic Sclerosis: Clinical Applications, Challenges, and Future Directions

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a rare autoimmune disease defined by immune dysregulation, vasculopathy, and progressive fibrosis of the skin and internal organs. Despite advances in care, major complications such as interstitial lung disease (ILD) and myocardial involvement remain the leading causes of morbidity and mortality.

Radiofrequency pulse design using nonlinear gradient magnetic fields [PDF]

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, 2014
PurposeAn iterative k‐space trajectory and radiofrequency (RF) pulse design method is proposed for excitation using nonlinear gradient magnetic fields.Theory and MethodsThe spatial encoding functions (SEFs) generated by nonlinear gradient fields are linearly dependent in Cartesian coordinates. Left uncorrected, this may lead to flip angle variations in

Application of Raman and Photoluminescence Spectroscopy to MgO‐C Refractories

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Visible to near infrared luminescence of MgO is studied on MgO‐C bricks and nominally pure MgO powder, with focus on two similar sharp high‐intensity signals, at 699 and 871 nm, each surrounded by symmetrical sidebands. The nature of these sidebands is investigated by temperature‐dependent spectroscopic measurements, confirming phonon involvement by ...

Classical Limit of Demagnetization in a Field Gradient

open access: yes, 2002
We calculate the rate of decrease of the expectation value of the transverse component of spin for spin-1/2 particles in a magnetic field with a spatial gradient, to determine the conditions under which a previous classical description is valid.

Magnetic Field Gradient Sensor Using Liquids.

open access: yesJournal of the Magnetics Society of Japan, 1999
A method was investigated for measuring the value of B·dB/dx, which determines the magnetic force exerted on paramagnetic or diamagnetic substances. For this purpose, the change in the surface shape of fluids under inhomogeneous fields due to a phenomenon called the Moses effect, was used.

VELOCITY GRADIENTS AS A TRACER FOR MAGNETIC FIELDS [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2017
Strong Alfv nic turbulence develops eddy-like motions perpendicular to the local direction of magnetic fields. This local alignment induces velocity gradients perpendicular to the local direction of the magnetic field. We use this fact to propose a new technique of studying the direction of magnetic fields from observations, the Velocity Gradient ...

Composition‐Tuned Enhancement of the Anomalous Nernst Effect in FeCo–Pt Thin Films on Rigid and Flexible Substrates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.

FARADAY MAGNETOMETER WITH SHERIC POLE PIECES: IDENTIFICATION ZONE WITH A STABLE FORCE FACTOR

open access: yesРоссийский технологический журнал, 2017
Basic principles and approaches in generation of devices for realization Faraday method are evaluated (for learning magnetic susceptibility of samples). It is noticed that problem exists - it is difficult to identify an operating area to coordinate here ...

Fermion Production in Strong Magnetic Field and its Astrophysical Implications

open access: yes, 2007
We calculate the effective potential of a strong magnetic field induced by fermions with anomalous magnetic moments which couple to the electromagnetic field in the form of the Pauli interaction. For a uniform magnetic field, we find the explicit form of
