Magnetic Field Measurements near Mars
Science, 1965During the encounter between Mariner IV and Mars on 14-15 July, no magnetic effect that could be definitely associated with the planet was evident in the magnetometer data. This observation implies that the Martian magnetic dipole moment is, at most, 3 × 10 -4 times that of the earth.

Measurement accuracy in shielded magnetic fields
Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 2005Abstract The measurement error due to both the probe size averaging effect and the coil arrangement is investigated when magnetic field measurements are performed in close proximity to different planar shields. The analysis is carried on through a hybrid FEM/BEM model which employs the “thin shield” technique.

Measurements of magnetic fields by a ring laser
Applied Optics, 1992The principle of measuring magnetic fields with a ring laser system is discussed. The main source of error, the Zeeman effect, is studied, and a corresponding technique to reduce it is described. An experimental setup is developed with a Faraday cell of a large product of the Verdet constant and the length. The experimental device obtains a sensitivity

Measuring the Earth’s magnetic field in a laboratory
Physics Education, 2008Two methods for measuring the Earth's magnetic field are described. In the former, according to Gauss, the Earth's magnetic field is compared with that of a permanent magnet; in the latter, a well-known method, the comparison is made with the magnetic field generated by a current.

Reduction of the uncertainty in the measurements of magnetic fields
2014 International Conference on Renewable Energy Research and Application (ICRERA), 2014The paper deals with magnetic field measurement, carried out by using a broadband and isotropic instrument. These measurements are characterized by a very high uncertainty values if compared with the ones usually related to other electrical measurements.

Measurements of a Magnetic Field
American Journal of Physics, 1961A method for measuring the average value of the magnetic field between pole pieces of a fixed magnet using a current-carrying wire has been developed. This method vividly demonstrates the interplay of electromagnetic and mechanical forces and allows for the measurement of the average magnetic field.

Measurement of the thermal conductivity in a magnetic field
Physics Letters A, 1968Abstract The thermal conductivity of a hydrogen plasma has been measured in a transverse magnetic field in the temperature range between 10 000 and 50 000°K.

Measurements of Magnetic Fields
Symposium - International Astronomical Union, 1971It is demonstrated that certain interrelations between the Stokes parameters are much less dependent on line formation than generally expected. Thus the dependence of these parameters on the magnetic field may be made more explicit and may lead to reliable calibration of polarimetric measurements in terms of magnetic field.
