Magnetic field modulation using a superconductive coil
A simple system is described in which a superconductive coil is used to produce an oscillating magnetic field of amplitude 0.04 T for field modulation of a steady background of up to 8 T. The performance of the AC modulating coil at frequencies below 16 Hz is presented and a quantitative explanation of its behaviour is given.

Magnetotransport in a spatially modulated magnetic field [PDF]
We have measured the Shubnikov de Haas (SdH) oscillations of a nonplanar two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG) fabricated by overgrowth of a GaAs/AlGaAs heterojunction on a pre-patterned substrate. When placed in a uniform external magnetic field B, the field normal to the nonplanar 2DEG is spatially modulated, and electrons experience a nonuniform ...

Magnetic effects on EHF signal BER and modulation in plasma sheaths [PDF]
The combination of EHF (Extremely High Frequency) and magnetic field provides an effective method for solving communication “blackout,” but the specific impact of the magnetic field on the modulation mode of EHF signals in the plasma sheath needs further

Flux-quantum-modulated Kondo conductance in a multielectron quantum dot [PDF]
We investigate a lateral semiconductor quantum dot with a large number of electrons in the limit of strong coupling to the leads. A Kondo effect is observed and can be tuned in a perpendicular magnetic field.

Thermomagnetic convection in magnetic fluids influenced by a time‐modulated magnetic field [PDF]
AbstractMaterial– and flow properties of magnetic fluids can be influenced by applying an external magnetic field. In this work we will particularly consider the onset of convection in magnetic fluids which is influenced by a magnetic force. In a horizontal magnetic fluid layer the force arises if a temperature gradient and an external magnetic field ...

Modulation of laser radiation by suspension of carbon nanotubes in a magnetic liquid [PDF]
Background and Objectives: Magnetic fluids are unique nanodispersed systems that have the properties of a magnetic material and a liquid. Although their magnetic properties are inferior to steels and ferrites, they are supermagnetic compared to most ...
