Innate Immune Reprogramming Mediated by Endogenous Retroelement Dysregulation Drives Multiple Sclerosis Progression

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
Epigenetic reprogramming in hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs) and downstream myeloid cells, mediated by H3.3 downregulation and endogenous retroelement (ERE) overexpression, contributes to the progression of multiple sclerosis (MS). ABSTRACT Background Skewed myelopoiesis in the bone marrow has been identified as a key driver of multiple ...

On the ridge of instability in ferrofluidic Couette flow via alternating magnetic field

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
There is a huge number of natural and industrial flows, which are subjected to time-dependent boundary conditions. The flow of a magnetic fluid under the influence of temporal modulations is such an example.

The motion of a charged particle in the electromagnetic field of a multitonal amplitude-modulated wave and in the constant magnetic field

open access: yesSt. Petersburg Polytechnical University Journal: Physics and Mathematics, 2022
This article presents the exact solution of the equation of motion for a charged particle in the electromagnetic field of circularly and linear polarized multitonal amplitude-modulated waves, as well in the presence of a constant uniform magnetic field ...

Modulation of Galactic Cosmic Rays in the Inner Heliosphere over Solar Cycles

open access: yes, 2018
The 11-year and 22-year modulation of galactic cosmic rays (GCRs) in the inner heliosphere are studied using a numerical model developed by Qin and Shen in 2017.

Paramagnetic Rim Lesions Are Associated With Trans‐Synaptic Degeneration of the Visual Pathway in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Retrograde trans‐synaptic degeneration (rTSD) from posterior visual pathway lesions in multiple sclerosis (MS) is characterized by hemi‐macular ganglion cell‐inner plexiform layer (GCIPL) thinning and contralateral visual field loss.

Modulation behaviours and interchangeability of modulators for electrical machines

open access: yesIET Electric Power Applications, 2021
The authors aimed to investigate the modulation behaviours and the interchangeability of three kinds of modulators in electrical machines, which are short circuited coil, salient pole reluctance and flux barriers, to understand the evolution of the ...

Multi-band energy spectra of spin-1/2 electrons with two-dimensional magnetic modulations

open access: yes, 1997
The energy spectra of spin-1/2 electrons under two-dimensional magnetic field modulations are calculated beyond the one-band approximation. Our formulation is generally applicable to a modulation field with a rectangular lattice symmetry.

Amplitude modulation of solar p-modes by surface magnetic fields [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Context. It is known from Doppler velocity measurements that the amplitudes of solar p-modes are modulated by strong photospheric magnetic field. Aims. The aim of this paper is to investigate amplitude modulation by model surface magnetic fields. Methods.

Magnetic-field-modulated Kondo effect in a single-magnetic-ion molecule

open access: yesPhysical Review B, 2014
We study numerically the low-temperature electronic transport properties of a single-ion magnet with uniaxial and transverse spin anisotropies. We find clear signatures of a Kondo effect caused by the presence of a transverse (zero-field) anisotropy in the molecule.

CAR T‐Cell Therapy in Neurology: A Scoping Review of Neuro‐Oncology, Autoimmune Diseases & Neurotoxicity

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T‐cell therapy has been investigated in neurological diseases, encompassing both central nervous system malignancies and autoimmune disorders, thereby extending its application beyond hematological cancers.
