The properties of horizontal magnetic elements in quiet solar intranetwork
Using the data observed by the Solar Optical Telescope/Spectro-Polarimeter aboard the Hinode satellite, the horizontal and vertical fields are derived from the wavelength-integrated measures of Zeeman-induced linear and circular polarizations.

Magnetic flux density measurement in permanent magnet synchronous machines [PDF]
This paper describes two measurement techniques of the air gap flux density in a small permanent magnet synchronous machine. The first method is based of the harmonic analysis of the induced voltage in a search coil placed on the inner periphery of the stator, while the second relies on the analysis of the induced voltage in the stator windings ...

ABSTRACT Objective To investigate the value of constructing models based on habitat radiomics and pathomics for predicting the risk of progression in high‐grade gliomas. Methods This study conducted a retrospective analysis of preoperative magnetic resonance (MR) images and pathological sections from 72 patients diagnosed with high‐grade gliomas (52 ...

Magnetic Flux Expulsion in Star Formation
Stars form in dense cores of magnetized molecular clouds. If the magnetic flux threading the cores is dragged into the stars, the stellar field would be orders of magnitude stronger than observed. This well-known "magnetic flux problem" demands that most

Functional and Structural Evidence of Neurofluid Circuit Aberrations in Huntington Disease
ABSTRACT Objective Disrupted neurofluid regulation may contribute to neurodegeneration in Huntington disease (HD). Because neurofluid pathways influence waste clearance, inflammation, and the distribution of central nervous system (CNS)–delivered therapeutics, understanding their dysfunction is increasingly important as targeted treatments emerge.

Analytical modeling of open-Circuit air-Gap field distributions in multisegment and multilayer interior permanent-magnet machines [PDF]
We present a simple lumped magnetic circuit model for interior permanent-magnet (IPM) machines with multisegment and multilayer permanent magnets. We derived analytically the open-circuit air-gap field distribution, average air-gap flux density, and ...

ABSTRACT Objective To explore how cerebral hypoxia and Normal‐Appearing White Matter (NAWM) integrity affect MS lesion burden and clinical course. Methods Seventy‐nine MS patients, including 13 clinically isolated syndrome (CIS) patients and 66 relapsing–remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) patients, and 44 healthy controls (HCs) were recruited from ...

Solar Jet on 2014 April 16 Modeled by Kelvin--Helmholtz Instability
We study here the arising of Kelvin--Helmholtz Instability (KHI) in one fast jet of 2014 April 16 observed by the Atmospheric Imaging Assembly (AIA) on board Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) in different UV and EUV wavelengths.

The quiet Sun's magnetic flux estimated from CaIIH bright inter-granular G-band structures [PDF]
We determine the number density and area contribution of small-scale inter-granular calcium-II bright G-band structures in images of the quiet Sun as tracers of kilo-Gauss magnetic flux-concentrations.

Distribution of magnetic flux density at the solar surface [PDF]
A formal description of the distribution of magnetic flux density in a quiet Sun region supplemented by an ex- ample and an application is presented. We define a flux-based probability density, which is useful to reveal the presence of any strong-field component in the region.
