Rapidly Evolving Circularly Polarized Emission during the 1994 Outburst of GRO J1665-40 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We report the detection of circular polarization during the 1994 outburst of the Galactic microquasar GRO J1655-40. The circular polarization is clearly detected at 1.4 and 2.4GHz, but not at 4.8 and 8.4GHz, where its magnitude never exceeds 5 mJy.

Enhancing Wire-Rope Damage Signals Based on a Radial Magnetic Concentrator Bridge Circuit

open access: yesSensors, 2022
Hall-effect sensors are used for the non-destructive testing of wire ropes owing to their low power consumption and high operation frequency. The high-speed operation of wire ropes causes vibration inclination at different frequencies, which makes it ...

Extraction of Flux Leakage and Eddy Current Signals Induced by Submillimeter Backside Slits on Carbon Steel Plate Using a Low-Field AMR Differential Magnetic Probe

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) and Eddy Current Testing (ECT) are commonly employed as the non-destructive evaluation (NDE) techniques used to detect defects within the steel.

Quality Assurance Testing for Screening Defective Aluminum Die-cast Rotors of Squirrel Cage Induction Machines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The recent trend in squirrel cage induction motor manufacturing is to replace fabricated copper rotors with aluminum die-cast rotors to reduce manufacturing cost to stay competitive in the global market. Porosity in aluminum die-cast squirrel cage rotors

Magnetic Flux Leakage Method: Large-Scale Approximation

open access: yes, 2015
We consider the application of the magnetic flux leakage (MFL) method to the detection of defects in ferromagnetic (steel) tubulars. The problem setup corresponds to the cases where the distance from the casing and the point where the magnetic field is ...

Axial magnetic field sensing for pulsed magnetic flux leakage hairline crack detection and quantification [PDF]

open access: yes2017 IEEE SENSORS, 2017
The Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) testing method is a well-established branch of electromagnetic non-destructive testing technology extensively used to observe, analyze and estimate the level of imperfections (cracks, corrosions, pits, dents, etc.) affecting the quality of ferromagnetic steel structures.
