Microvascular damage is associated with carotid wall structural changes in Systemic Sclerosis: a capillaroscopy and ultrasound‐based observational study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Introduction Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is characterized by cardiovascular risk excess not fully explained by traditional factors. Whether the severity of microvascular damage correlates with structural subclinical atherosclerosis remains unclear. We investigated the relationship between nailfold videocapillaroscopy (NVC) abnormalities and carotid ...

Finite image size effects on the characterization of magnetic domain patterns via magnetic force microscopy

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2023
Optimizing magnetic thin films for nanotechnologies often requires imaging nanoscale magnetic domain patterns via magnetic microscopy. The finite size of the image may however significantly affect the characterization of the observed magnetic states.

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Modular Critical Element Recycling Platform Using a Nanoporous Additively Manufactured Gyroid

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A modular recycling platform integrates 3D‐printed nanoporous gyroid structures to enable efficient critical element recovery. This system utilizes a hierarchical architecture, combining macroscopic channels with polymerization‐induced nanoscale porosity. By systematically tuning structural wall thickness and resin formulation, the platform achieves an

SEM and AFM Studies of Two-Phase Magnetic Alkali Borosilicate Glasses

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2017
The morphology and composition of four types of two-phase alkali borosilicate glasses with magnetic atoms prepared by inductive melting have been studied. The results of scanning electron microscopy point to uniform distribution of Na, Si, and O atoms in

Magnetic dissipation force microscopy

open access: yesApplied Physics Letters, 1997
A method of measuring magnetic dissipation on a sub-100 nm scale is presented. This technique relies on measuring changes in the damping of the oscillating tip in a magnetic force microscope (MFM). Damping contrast is strongly correlated with micromagnetic structure and in the case of NiFe, is in quantitative agreement with magnetoelastic losses in the

The Influence of Field‐Assisted Sintering Technology (FAST) Temperature and Cooling Rate on the Microstructural Evolution in Gamma‐Titanium Aluminide Alloy GE4822

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Controlling the Field Assisted Sintering Technology (FAST) parameters, dwell temperature and cooling rate, significantly influences the microstructural evolution in titanium aluminide GE4822. Significant γ‐lamellar colonies develop only upon cooling through the α‐transus.

Superlubricity and Corrosion Inhibition Properties of Solvate Ionic Liquids in Hybrid Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic–Steel Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Solvate ionic liquids lubrication reduced the coefficient of friction by ∼60% compared to dry sliding, reaching steady‐state values as low as 0.04–0.05. Corrosion weight‐loss measurements in 1 M HCl further demonstrated significant inhibition behavior, with only 100 ppm of [Li(G3)][TFSI] (∼68.5 μL/L) reducing corrosion‐product weight loss by 63 ...
