Magnetic gear and coupling using permanent magnet.

open access: yesJournal of the Magnetics Society of Japan, 1987
Recently, permanent magnets have shown excellent practical performance characteristics. A description is given of a magnetic device with rotational ratio n constructed using a permanent magnet. When n ≠ 1, it operates as a magnetic gear and when n = 1, it operates as a magnetic coupling. As a magnetic gear, we used SmCo5 for the permanent magnet.

Efficient Harvesting of Irregular and Low‐Frequency Mechanical Energy via Hybridized Electromagnetic‐Triboelectric Systems

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The rapid expansion of the Internet of Things (IoT) and wearable electronics necessitates sustainable power sources to replace the limited electrochemical battery. While mechanical energy harvesting offers a promising solution, traditional harvesters face challenges of irregular and low−frequency environmental sources. This review presents the

Analysis and Numerical Calculation for Several Basic Characteristics of Coaxial Magnetic Gears Applied in Robots

open access: yesJixie chuandong
Due to its natural characteristics, coaxial magnetic gears are still difficult to be directly applied to industrial robots. Some key basic characteristics such as torque density, transmission ratio, null-space, backlash and torsional stiffness, and ...

Point contact spectroscopy of the electron-doped cuprate superconductor Pr{2-x}Ce{x}CuO4: The dependence of conductance-voltage spectra on cerium doping, barrier strength and magnetic field

open access: yes, 2003
We present conductance-voltage (G-V) data for point contact junctions between a normal metal and the electron doped cuprate superconductor Pr{2-x}Ce{x}CuO4 (PCCO).

Increasing the Reuse Potential of High‐Strength Steels by Extending the Fatigue Life through Surface Treatments

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Surface reconditioning through mechanical and electrochemical polishing is shown to extend the fatigue life of predamaged 42CrMo4 steel by over 12 times. By removing ≈100 μm of surface material, surface‐driven fatigue damage is mitigated. This study introduces a reuse potential metric to evaluate fatigue recovery and support sustainable steel reuse. Mobile electromagnetic levitator for time‐resolved in situ X‐ray diffraction studies of high‐temperature phase transformations

open access: yesJournal of Synchrotron Radiation, EarlyView.
A mobile electromagnetic levitator combined with time‐resolved synchrotron X‐ray diffraction enables in situ studies of high‐temperature phase transformations without container‐induced contamination and reveals the first direct observation of metastable phase formation in undercooled Fe–Co alloys. In situ observations of high‐temperature transformations,

Comparison of a Miniaturized Implantable Two‐Stage Rotodynamic Blood Pump to Equivalent Single‐Stage Concepts

open access: yesArtificial Organs, EarlyView.
This study aims to evaluate the potential of a multistage pump design to enhance hemocompatibility in left ventricular assist devices. We found that the two‐stage concept offers favorable hemolysis measures compared to single‐stage designs, as the reduction in peak shear stresses outweighs the disadvantage associated with prolonged residence time ...
