A superconducting magnetic gear [PDF]
A comparison is made between a magnetic gear using permanent magnets and superconductors. The objective is to see if there are any fundamental reasons why superconducting magnets should not provide higher power densities than permanent magnets. The gear is based on the variable permeability design of Attilah and Howe (2001 IEEE Trans. Magn. 37 2844–46)

This study demonstrates an efficient recycling route for out‐of‐spec AlSi10Mg atomized powders through compaction and arc remelting followed by suction casting. By correlating compaction load, cooling rate, and resulting microstructure, we show that intermediate pressures (50–80 kN) and rapid cooling refine dendrites, reduce porosity, and enhance ...

This work pioneers melt electrowriting (MEW) of polyethylene vinyl acetate (PEVA) to fabricate ultra‐compliant, high‐resolution scaffolds. By integrating microscale precision with soft tissue‐like biomechanics, PEVA overcomes stiffness‐driven limitations of conventional MEW polymers, establishing a mechanically biomimetic platform for soft tissue ...

Plasmonic Nanomachines: Creating Local Potential Gradients and Motions
Plasmonic nanomachines can generate optical, thermal, and chemical potential gradients to drive directional rectilinear, rotational, and twisting motions at the nanometer scale. The integration of multimodal plasmonic forces with functional materials and programmed structural distortions enables precise spatiotemporal actuation, thereby providing a ...
