A New Structure for the Magnetic Gear [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
In this paper, a new structure for increasing the magnetic gear torque is proposed, which has high torque density and high mechanical properties. The permanent magnets (PMs) of the outer rotor are spoked and magnetized along the tangential direction. The PMs of inner rotor are the surface-mount type and magnetized in the radial direction.

COMPARISON OF MAGNETIC-GEARED PERMANENT-MAGNET MACHINES [PDF]

open access: yesProgress In Electromagnetics Research, 2013
With the advent of magnetic gears, researchers have developed a new breed of permanent-magnet machines. These magnetic-geared permanent-magnet machines artfully incorporate the concept of magnetic gearing into the permanent-magnet machines, leading to achieve low-speed high-torque direct-drive operation.

Magnetic gearbox for automotive power transmissions: An innovative industrial technology

open access: yesEngineering Science and Technology, an International Journal, 2023
Conventional coaxial magnetic gears are structures with permanent magnets, which working principle is equivalent to that of epicyclic gearing. The motion is transferred between different axles, without contact in the rotating elements, by modulating the ...

Numerical and Experimental Analysis of Magnetic Gears [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Like mechanical gears, magnetic gears convert power between low-speed, hightorque rotation and high-speed, low-torque rotation. This work compares various magnetic gear designs and topologies, introduces an approach for evaluating their dynamic behavior,
