Magnetic Fluid Composite Gels

2014
Polymer gels in which magnetic fluid is immobilized have been considered as a possible candidate of useful actuators or sensors. Particularly, remote actuation is possible without any harmful damage to the body in medical actuation. This means the system can also be applied for energy harvesting system, too.

Dynamic probing of thixotropic magnetic gels

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 2002
Abstract The sol–gel transition of thixotropic magnetic gels is studied at macroscopic and mesoscopic scales by rheology and dynamic birefringence. Gelation times are, respectively, determined from small amplitude shear oscillatory measurements in the framework of Winter's model and from relaxation dynamic birefringence.

Dynamics of PVA-gel with magnetic macrojunctions

Physica B: Condensed Matter, 2001
Abstract The neutron-spin-echo spectrometer SPAN [C. Pappas et al., Physica B 276–278 (2000) 162] has been used for the study of the dynamics of ferrogel of Poly(vinylalcohol) with subdomain particles of magnetite (size ∼10 nm , concentration in gel C=4.25 wt %. ) embedded in polymer matrix.

Dipolar gels formed by aggregation of magnetized beads

Physical Review E
The out-of-equilibrium aggregation of dipolar particles, such as magnetized beads, leads to the formation of large structures composed of chains, loops, and eventually ribbons. In the present study, we focus on the evolution of these different substructures in a two-dimensional system confined within progressively shrinking environments.

Conductive magnetic sol–gel films

Journal of Materials Chemistry C, 2015
We report the development of new conductive–magnetic composite films obtained by the entrapment of silver nanowires (AgNWs) in sol–gel derived magnetite.

Magnetic Particle Composite Gels

2014
Magnetic soft materials containing solid state magnetic particles demonstrate various motions and magnetorheological behavior in response to magnetic fields. When a rotational magnetic field is applied to magnetic gels containing with magnetized particles, the magnetic gels exhibit rotational motion.

Review of Magnetic Gels as Smart Materials

2020
Chapter 8 reviews magnetic gels. Zrinyi and co-workers were the first to develop magnetically active gels, the responses of which could be vastly accelerated by an imposed magnetic field. This chapter is a compact review of magnetic gels based on related research and development performed by Zrinyi and co-workers. Note that magnetic gels are considered

Colloids and Gels Containing Magnetic Nanoparticles

2019
Magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs), whose positions and motions can be controlled by external magnetic fields, have been widely used and designed into applications both in academia and industries especially when dispersed in media such as colloids and hydrogels, owing to the combination of their unique properties and the advantages of the media.
