Static magnetic field (SMF) plays important roles in various biological processes of many organisms including plants, though the molecular mechanism remains largely unclear. Here in this study, we evaluated different magnetic setups to test their effects

The effect of magnetic islands on ITG turbulence driven transport
In this work, we address the question of the influence of magnetic islands on the perpendicular transport due to steady-state ITG turbulence on the energy transport time scale.

A Statistical Model of Magnetic Islands in a Large Current Layer
We develop a statistical model describing the dynamics of magnetic islands in very large current layers that develop in space plasma. Two parameters characterize the island distribution: the flux contained in the island and the area it encloses.

Development of Turbulent Magnetic Reconnection in a Magnetic Island
Abstract In this paper, with two-dimensional particle-in-cell simulations, we report that the electron Kelvin–Helmholtz instability is unstable in the current layer associated with a large-scale magnetic island, which is formed in multiple X-line guide field reconnections.

Photon Assisted Tunneling of Zero Modes in a Majorana Wire
Hybrid nanowires with proximity-induced superconductivity in the topological regime host Majorana zero modes (MZMs) at their ends, and networks of such structures can produce topologically protected qubits.

Magnetic-Island Contraction and Particle Acceleration in Simulated Eruptive Solar Flares
The mechanism that accelerates particles to the energies required to produce the observed high-energy impulsive emission in solar flares is not well understood. Drake et al.

Multi-anyons in the magnetic field
We consider the external magnetic field effects on the two types of anyon with fractional statistical parameters $p/q$ with coprimes $p$ and $q$, one with fractional charge $e/q $ and flux $p \phi_0(=hc/e)$(type I), the other with fractional flux $p ...

Beyond Diophantine Wannier diagrams: Gap labelling for Bloch-Landau Hamiltonians [PDF]
It is well known that, given a $2d$ purely magnetic Landau Hamiltonian with a constant magnetic field $b$ which generates a magnetic flux $\varphi$ per unit area, then any spectral island $\sigma_b$ consisting of $M$ infinitely degenerate Landau levels ...

Magnetic-island formation [PDF]
The response of a finite conductivity plasma to resonant magnetic perturbations is studied. The equations, which are derived for the time development of magnetic islands, help one interpret the singular currents which occur under the assumption of perfect plasma conductivity. The relation to the Rutherford regime of resistive instabilities is given.

Objective There is growing interest in evaluating new strategies to delay or prevent posttraumatic osteoarthritis (PTOA) in individuals who have sustained anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. This study sought to determine characteristics of potential treatments that are acceptable to patients with ACL injury. Methods Participants with a history of
