Position Control of Magnetic Levitation Ball Based on an Improved Adagrad Algorithm and Deep Neural Network Feedforward Compensation Control

open access: yes, 2020
To control the position of the magnetic levitation ball more accurately, this paper proposes a deep neural network feedforward compensation controller based on an improved Adagrad optimization algorithm.

Does Gastrointestinal Bleeding Increase the Risk of Thromboembolic Events in Patients Supported With CF‐LVADs?

open access: yesArtificial Organs, EarlyView.
Gastrointestinal bleeding significantly increases thromboembolic risk. Higher risk was also seen in patients aged ≥ 50 years, Black patients, and those with older CF‐LVAD models. ABSTRACT Background Gastrointestinal bleeding is a common complication in continuous‐flow left ventricular assist device (CF‐LVAD) patients. Managing gastrointestinal bleeding

Obtaining the center of gravity, inertia parameters and finite element approximation models of electromagnetic nonlinearity on 6DOF magnetic levitation system by adaptive control method

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2015
This paper provides an adaptive control method for a magnetic levitation using finite element approximation. Thanks to noncontact and frictionless, magnetic levitation can move smoothly and position precisely an object.

Shock metamorphic effects in Itokawa phosphates: A comparison with megaregolith‐derived meteorites

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, EarlyView.
Abstract Returned regolith samples from the asteroid Itokawa provide a unique opportunity to compare shock metamorphic effects in unconsolidated regolith materials with those preserved in lithified meteorites, that is, megaregolith. We analyzed four Itokawa particles (Ueda—RA‐QD02‐0519, Narahara—RA‐QD02‐0573, Domon—RA‐QD02‐0588, Ishiuchi—RX‐MD03‐0212 ...

Terminal sliding mode control strategy design for second-order nonlinear system

open access: yes, 2012
This study mainly focuses on the terminal sliding mode control (TSMC) strategy design, including an adaptive terminal sliding mode control (ATSMC) and an exact-estimator-based terminal sliding mode control (ETSMC) for second-order nonlinear dynamical ...

Levitation Coil Length Optimization of a Magnetically Levitated Train.

open access: yesIEEJ Transactions on Industry Applications, 1992
AbstractAn experimental line of a magnetically levitated train (MAGLEV) using superconducting magnets (SCM) is now under construction in Yamanashi Prefecture. In the MAGLEV system, the levitation coils are mounted in the side walls. The induced current of the levitation coils generates magnetic flux that includes higher order harmonics. These harmonics

Frequency Analysis of a Superconducting Magnetic Bearing System in Ring Spinning Using an Eddy Current Damper

open access: yesPAMM, Volume 26, Issue 1, March 2026.
ABSTRACT The conventional ring‐spinning process has been used for over a century, being one of the most used processes in the textile industry. However, this process has some disadvantages at high spindle speeds, such as friction in the traveler/ring components that generates heat, resulting in yarn breakages or lower‐quality production.

Optimized production of a cesium Bose-Einstein condensate

open access: yes, 2004
We report on the optimized production of a Bose-Einstein condensate of cesium atoms using an optical trapping approach. Based on an improved trap loading and evaporation scheme we obtain more than $10^5$ atoms in the condensed phase.

P‐ and S‐wave Velocity Measurement of Lunar Orthopyroxene up to 5.5 GPa and 1,273 K: Implication for the Iron Content of the Lunar Upper Mantle

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 3, 16 February 2026.
Abstract Seismological observations in the lunar mantle, in conjunction with experimental knowledge on the elastic wave velocities and density of lunar mantle minerals, provide important constraints on the composition and mineralogy of the lunar mantle. Here we report elastic wave velocities and density of a lunar orthopyroxene (Mg0.84Fe0.13Ca0.03SiO3)
