Magnetic Field Control Using an Electromagnetic Actuation System with Combined Air‐Core and Metal‐Core Coils

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
An electromagnetic manipulation system enhances magnetic field strength in the Z‐direction for 3D control of microrobots and nanoparticles. Featuring eight metal‐core coils and two air‐core coils arranged hemispherically, it ensures unimpeded workspace access and integrates imaging tools.

Optimization of the Superconducting Linear Magnetic Bearing of a Maglev Vehicle

open access: yes, 2015
Considering the need for cost/performance prediction and optimization of superconducting maglev vehicles, we develop and validate here a 3D finite element model to simulate superconducting linear magnetic bearings.

Comparison of Ziegler-Nichols and Cohen Coon tuning method for magnetic levitation control system

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2020
Magnetic levitation is an example of a nonlinear system that is naturally unstable. In the control system field, it can be also used to check the effectiveness of control methods.

Optimizing biophysical properties of cellular niches to enhance stem cell‐derived extracellular vesicle function in musculoskeletal regeneration

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
Extracellular vesicles (EVs) derived from stem cells show promise for applications in regenerative medicine, but their scalability and yield remain challenges. This review explores the approaches for biophysical modulations within cell niches on EV properties, discusses the current clinical application of EVs, and provides an outlook on the existing ...

The Most Important Maglev Applications

open access: yesJournal of Engineering, 2013
The name maglev is derived from magnetic levitation. Magnetic levitation is a highly advanced technology. It has various uses. The common point in all applications is the lack of contact and thus no wear and friction.

Advances in Triboelectric Nanogenerators With Rotating Structure

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
The rotating TENG has been widely studied for its superiorities of simple structure, high efficiency, and stable output. This review introduced the four different principles of rotating TENG and offered a thorough summary for performance and application research through three‐level classification. Importantly, the current existing problems, challenges,

Realization of diamagnetic levitation of column-shaped graphite

open access: yesMechanical Engineering Journal, 2015
The completely passive levitation of a column-shaped graphite object is achieved. Graphite is a typical diamagnetic material. Diamagnetic materials have a property of generating repulsive force in magnetic field.

Levitation of quantum Hall critical states in a lattice model with spatially correlated disorder

open access: yes, 2003
The fate of the current carrying states of a quantum Hall system is considered in the situation when the disorder strength is increased and the transition from the quantum Hall liquid to the Hall insulator takes place.

Leidenfrost‐Assisted Synthesis of Indium‐Substituted Mixed Phosphate Cathodes with Superior Cycling Stability and Enhanced Sodium Storage Kinetics

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
The work presents a Leidenfrost‐assisted synthesis as a low‐cost and scalable approach for designing In3+‐doped mixed phosphate ([PO4]3−‐[P2O7]4−) cathodes. The optimized cathode composition exhibits exceptional electrochemical performance, with a specific capacity of 129.3 mAh g−1 at 0.05 C, corresponding to an energy density of ∼$\sim $359 Wh kg−1 ...

Weak levitation of 2D delocalized states in a magnetic field.

open access: yes, 1995
The deviation of the energy position of a delocalized state from the center of Landau level is studied in the framework of the Chalker-Coddington model. It is demonstrated that introducing a weak Landau level mixing results in a shift of the delocalized ...
