A New Magnetic Levitation System With an Increased Levitation Force

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity, 2019
A conventional configuration for levitating a vehicle consists of a magnetic guideway on the ground and superconductors in a cryostat located below the vehicle, at a few millimetres from the guideway. A problem is the limitation of the levitating force by the amplitude of the magnetic field generated by the guideway and the size of the superconductors.

Magnetic Levitation Systems for Disease Diagnostics

Trends in Biotechnology, 2021
Magnetic levitation (MagLev) is a well-documented, robust technique for density measurements and separations. Although the potential of MagLev as an emerging tool in biotechnology has been recently investigated, the practical use of MagLev in diagnosis and disease detection merits further attention.

Identification of Magnetic Levitation System

2021
Magnetic Levitation Systems (MLS) are usually highly non-linear systems with a great sensitivity to the size of the control input. Therefore, special emphasis should be placed on the correct identification of all unknown MLS parameters. This paper describes the principle and procedure for identifying laboratory plant CE 152 MLS with an emphasis on ...

Robust regulation for a magnetic levitation system

42nd IEEE International Conference on Decision and Control (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37475), 2004
In this paper we consider the problem of disturbance suppression for a magnetic levitation system in presence of uncertainties on the physical parameters of the system. It is shown how a saturated feedback can be successfully used in order to solve the problem. The problem is cast as a nonlinear regulation problem in presence of input constraint and an

Vision based magnetic levitation system

2012 20th Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2012
In this study, control of a vision based magnetic levitation system was explored. The system which is known as magnetic levitation or magnetic suspension constitutes the fundamental of the high speed maglev trains. The system levitates a ferro-magnetic object in the space using electromagnetic force against to gravity.

Levitation and guidance control of passive magnetic levitation tray system

IEEE ISR 2013, 2013
This paper describes the levitation and guidance control of a passive magnetic levitation tray system. In this system, a moving tray is completely contactless and has no electric equipments. Lifting, guiding and propelling forces are generated by external electromagnets. Especially, we focused on the levitation and guidance control in this paper.

Balanced robust regulation of a magnetic levitation system

IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology, 2005
In this brief, we consider the problem of disturbance suppression for a magnetic levitation system in presence of physical uncertainties. The problem is cast as a nonlinear regulation problem in presence of input constraint and an internal model-based regulator is designed.

A Fractional LQI Controller for a Magnetic Levitation System

2021 25th International Conference on Methods and Models in Automation and Robotics (MMAR), 2021
A magnetic levitation plant is a fast, unstable, nonlinear mechatronic system vulnerable to measurement noise and external interference. Designing a high-performance and robust controller for such system, immune to noise and disturbances, and ensuring a wide operating region, is a challenging task.

Modeling of magnetic levitation system

2017 21st International Conference on Process Control (PC), 2017
The paper is devoted to modeling and parameter identification for Magnetic Levitation System (MLS) from Inteco. MLS belongs to challenging modelling and control problems due to its unstability and nonlinearity. We concern several modeling details not sufficiently described in user manual, a correction of nonlinear model, and present the corresponding ...
