Preparation of C-based Magnetic Materials from Fruit Peel and Hydrochar using Snake Fruit (Salacca zalacca) Peel as Adsorbents for the Removal of Malachite Green Dye

open access: yesEnvironment and Natural Resources Journal, 2023
In this study, fruit peel-based magnetic (M-Sp) and hydrochar-based magnetic (M-HSp) materials were successfully synthesized by hydrothermal and magnetization treatments.

Inhomogeneous ferrimagnetic-like behavior in Gd2/3Ca1/3MnO3 single crystals

open access: yes, 2008
We present a study of the magnetic properties of Gd2/3Ca1/3MnO3 single crystals at low temperatures. We show that this material behave as an inhomogeneous ferrimagnet.

Two-dimensional magnetic crystals and emergent heterostructure devices

open access: yesScience, 2019
The ultimate in thin-film magnetism The alignment of the magnetic properties of atoms gives rise to a wealth of simple and exotic properties that can be exploited. As the dimension of the material is reduced, such that the atoms are in a single monolayer,

Suppression of magnetic ordering in XXZ-type antiferromagnetic monolayer NiPS3 [PDF]

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
How a certain ground state of complex physical systems emerges, especially in two-dimensional materials, is a fundamental question in condensed-matter physics.

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Direct observation of magnetization reversal of hot-deformed Nd-Fe-B magnet

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2018
The dynamic magnetic domain structure in magnetization and demagnetization process of hot-deformed and NdCu-diffused Nd2Fe14B magnets were in-situ observed by Lorentz transmission electron microscopy (LTEM).

The formation of regular interarm magnetic fields in spiral galaxies

open access: yes, 2015
Observations of regular magnetic fields in several nearby galaxies reveal magnetic arms situated between the material arms. The nature of these magnetic arms is a topic of active debate.

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Magnetic properties of doped Mn-Ga alloys made by mechanical milling and heat treatment

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2016
Mn-Ga alloys have shown hard magnetic properties, even though these alloys contain no rare-earth metals. However, much work is needed before rare-earth magnets can be replaced.

Preparation of Ultrahigh Molecular Weight Polyethylene/Graphene Nanocomposite In situ Polymerization via Spherical and Sandwich Structure Graphene/Sio2 Support

open access: yesNanoscale Research Letters, 2018
Reduced graphene oxide/SiO2 (RGO/SiO2) serving as a novel spherical support for Ziegler-Natta (Z-N) catalyst is reported. The surface and interior of the support has a porous architecture formed by RGO/SiO2 sandwich structure.
