Magnetostriction investigation of soft magnetic microwires

physica status solidi (a), 2015
The values of the magnetostriction constant, λs, of Co‐based glass‐coated microwires have been investigated by using the small‐angle magnetization rotation (SAMR) method. Performing the systematic measurements, we were able to choose the appropriate measurement conditions achieving a high‐precision result.

Circular domains nucleation in magnetic microwires

Applied Physics Letters, 2013
We report on the nucleation of circular domains in the outer shell of magnetic, Co-rich, amorphous microwires over a wide range of magnetic field pulse frequencies and amplitudes. Nucleation in the low barrier regime of different numbers of single domains was detected using the magneto-optical Kerr effect.

Modelling of microwave magnetoabsorption in magnetic microwires

Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics, 2009
Several groups have shown that magnetic microwires can have sizable microwave magnetoabsorption, which can be used for sensing and switching. We present a quasistatic model to describe this phenomenon, and we simulate the experimental observations using the dynamic permeability tensor to solve the vector wave equation. The simulations agree rather well

Temperature-Dependent Magnetic Properties of Magnetically Biphase Microwires

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2011
The magnetic behaviour of soft/hard biphase magnetic microwires has been studied as a function of temperature in the range 25°C to 900°C. The microwires consist of an ultrasoft CoFe-based vanishing magnetostriction amorphous core covered by insulating Pyrex coating prepared by quenching and drawing, plus an electroplated CoNi magnetically harder ...

Distribution of magnetization in microwire magnetoimpedance elements

Bulletin of the Russian Academy of Sciences: Physics, 2014
An important prerequisite for successfully developing highly sensitive magnetic field sensors based on amorphous ferromagnetic microwires is to study the conditions of excitation and the effect external magnetic fields on magnetoimpedance in amorphous ferromagnetic microwires.

Surface Magnetization Processes in Amorphous Microwires

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2010
Surface magnetization processes in ferromagnetic glass-coated amorphous microwires with positive, negative, and nearly zero magnetostriction have been investigated. The results indicate helical magnetization in the surface region of positive magnetostrictive microwires and enhanced soft magnetic properties on the axial direction.

Magnetic models of cast amorphous microwires

Surface Engineering and Applied Electrochemistry, 2011
A theory of a magnetic domain model for glass-coated amorphous microwires is studied. The obtained theoretical results are confirmed by experiments. Cast glass-coated amorphous microwires with positive magnetostriction have a rectangle hysteresis loop, which is characterized by a coercive-force stable magnitude.
