From Simplicity to Complexity: Substituent‐Controlled Z′ Multiplicity as a Design Principle for Thermally Robust Yet Programmable Anisotropic Expansion

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Leveraging substituent‐controlled packing competition in 2,6‐bis(4‐tert‐butylphenyl)anthracene, we developed a high‐Z′ symmetry‐amplification strategy that controls crystallographic inequivalence. This strategy enables reversible, thermally robust phase transitions and programmable anisotropic thermal expansion within a single molecular crystal ...

Characterization of Nonmetallic Inclusions in Ce‐Containing Steels at the Submicroscopic Level

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Accurate detection of nonmetallic inclusions (NMIs) is crucial for ensuring high standards in steel cleanness and properties. Optimized automated SEM/EDS measurements are required for evaluating Ce‐containing NMIs. This study enhances the characterization of submicroscopic NMI in Ce‐alloyed ultralow‐carbon, high‐manganese, and electrical steels ...

Investigation of Serrated Flow in Intercritically Annealed Medium Manganese Steel by In Situ Synchrotron X‐Ray Diffraction

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Serrations and stepwise austenite phase transformation were observed in cold‐rolled and annealed medium manganese steels. By in situ XRD experiments, these two phenomena were studied simultaneously. The results show that DSA leads to the creation of PLC bands and load drops in the specimen.

TRM‐to‐concrete interface bond without anchors: Combined experimental, analytical, and numerical modeling approach

open access: yesStructural Concrete, EarlyView.
Abstract Textile reinforced mortar (TRM) systems have emerged as an effective alternative to conventional FRP strengthening solutions due to their compatibility with concrete substrates and favorable performance under adverse environmental conditions.

Plasma‐Enabled Simultaneous Synthesis and Nano‐Anchoring of TiO2−x Nanolayers on Mesoporous Bio‐Silica for Effective Photodegradation of Tetramethylammonium Hydroxide

open access: yesSusMat, EarlyView.
A defect‐rich TiO2−x nanolayer was simultaneously synthesized and nano‐anchored on a mesoporous bio‐silica (diatomite) through a rapid, low‐temperature atmospheric‐pressure plasma process in aqueous media. The optimized TiO2−x/bio‐silica composite (DE 700) exhibits oxygen vacancies, an anatase–rutile heterointerface, broad solar‐spectrum absorption ...
