On-chip bioanalysis with magnetic particles
Current Opinion in Chemical Biology, 2012Magnetic particles can combine two very selective processes in bioanalysis: the specific binding of analytes to the particle surface based on molecular recognition and the specific isolation of magnetic objects from complex sample mixtures. They have found numerous applications including cell isolation, immunoassays or DNA extraction.

Magnetostimulation Limits in Magnetic Particle Imaging
IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging, 2013For magnetic particle imaging (MPI), specific absorption rate (SAR) and more critically magnetostimulation (i.e., dB/dt) safety limits will determine the optimal scan parameters, such as the drive field strength and frequency. These parameters will impact the scanning speed, field-of-view (FOV) and signal-to-noise ratio in MPI.

Steering of magnetic devices with a magnetic particle imaging system
2013 International Workshop on Magnetic Particle Imaging (IWMPI), 2013Small magnetic devices have been steered in arbitrary direction and with variable force using a preclinical demonstrator system for magnetic particle imaging (MPI). Fast localization due to the high imaging rate of over 40 volumes/s and strong forces due to the high field gradient of more than 1 T/m render an MPI system, a good platform for image ...
