Superparamagnetic relaxation in Cu_{x}Fe_{3-x}O_{4} (x=0.5 and x=1) nanoparticles

open access: yes, 2004
The scope of this article is to report very detailed results of the measurements of magnetic relaxation phenomena in the new Cu$_{0.5}$Fe$_{2.5}$O$_{4}$ nanoparticles and known CuFe$_{2}$O$_{4}$ nanoparticles.

An introduced effective-field theory study of spin-1 transverse Ising model with crystal field anisotropy in a longitudinal magnetic field

open access: yes, 2010
A spin-1 transverse Ising model with longitudinal crystal field in a longitudinal magnetic field is examined by introducing an effective field approximation (IEFT) which includes the correlations between different spins that emerge when expanding the ...

CePdAl - a Kondo lattice with partial frustration [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Magnetic frustration, which is well-defined in insulating systems with localized magnetic moments, yields exotic ground states like spin ices, spin glasses, or spin liquids.

Optical Phenomena in Molecule-Based Magnetic Materials

open access: yesChemical Reviews
Since the last century, we have witnessed the development of molecular magnetism which deals with magnetic materials based on molecular species, i.e., organic radicals and metal complexes.

Posteruptive phenomena in coronal mass ejections and substorms: Indicators of a universal process? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
[1] We examine phenomena associated with eruptions in the two different regimes of the solar corona and the terrestrial magnetosphere. We find striking similarities between the speeds of shrinking magnetic field lines in the corona and dipolarization ...

Multiscale nature of hysteretic phenomena: Application to CoPt-type magnets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We suggest a workable approach for the description of multiscale magnetization reversal phenomena in nanoscale magnets and apply it to CoPt-type alloys. We show that their hysteretic properties are governed by two effects originating at different length ...

PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells enhances bortezomib sensitivity in multiple myeloma cells by altering their metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.

Effect of Magnetic field on the Pseudogap Phenomena in High-Tc Cuprates

open access: yes, 2000
We theoretically investigate the effect of magnetic field on the pseudogap phenomena in High-Tc cuprates. The obtained results well explain the experimental results including their doping dependences. In our previous paper (J. Phys. Soc. Jpn.

Screening for lung cancer: A systematic review of overdiagnosis and its implications

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Low‐dose computed tomography (CT) screening for lung cancer may increase overdiagnosis compared to no screening, though the risk is likely low versus chest X‐ray. Our review of 8 trials (84 660 participants) shows added costs. Further research with strict adherence to modern nodule management strategies may help determine the extent to which ...
