Magnetic properties of twisted plasmons

open access: yesFundamental Plasma Physics, 2022
We consider the linear and nonlinear properties of twisted plasmons propagating in a magnetized plasma. Twisted plasmons are electron plasma waves with a finite amount of angular momentum.

Structural and magnetic properties of Pr-alloyed MnBi nanostructures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The structural and magnetic properties of Pr-alloyed MnBi (short MnBi-Pr) nanostructures with a range of Pr concentrations have been investigated. The nanostructures include thin films having Pr concentrations 0, 2, 3, 5 and 9 atomic percent and melt ...

In vitro properties of patient serum predict clinical outcome after high dose rate brachytherapy of hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Following high dose rate brachytherapy (HDR‐BT) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), patients were classified as responders and nonresponders. Post‐therapy serum induced increased BrdU incorporation and Cyclin E expression of Huh7 and HepG2 cells in nonresponders, but decreased levels in responders.

Thermoplastic magnetic elastomer for fused filament fabrication

open access: yesAIMS Materials Science, 2019
Magnetorheological elastomers (MREs) are unique smart materials of high elasticity and magnetic susceptibility. MREs are prominent for the high degree of mechanical deformation or changes in stiffness that can be induced by applying magnetic fields ...

Properties and influence of magnetic fields on iron particles of anisotropic magnetorheological elastomers

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2023
The magnetorheological elastomer (MRE) is an intelligent material whose mechanical properties can be rapidly adjusted under a magnetic flux density. This material’s mechanical properties change due to the interaction between the iron particles inside the

How to make semiconductors ferromagnetic: A first course on spintronics

open access: yes, 2003
The rapidly developing field of ferromagnetism in diluted magnetic semiconductors, where a semiconductor host is magnetically doped by transition metal impurities to produce a ferromagnetic semiconductor (e.g.

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Influence of Chemical Substitution and Light Element Insertion on the Magnetic Properties of Nanocrystalline Pr2Co7 Compound

open access: yesMagnetochemistry, 2022
It is well recognized that intermetallics based on rare-earth (R) and transition metals (T) display numerous interesting magnetic properties, leading to potential applications in different fields. The latest progress regarding magnetic properties and the

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.
