Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies
FEBS Open Bio, EarlyView. We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...Ayush Kumar Ganguli, Mohammad Nour Alsamsam, Ugnė Bagdonaitė, Van Truc Vu, Chun‐Jen Huang, Polina Kuzhir, Mindaugas Zaremba, Aurimas Kopūstas, Marijonas Tutkus +8 morewiley +1 more sourceBactericidal and immunomodulatory properties of magnetic nanoparticles functionalized by 1,4-dihydropyridines

FEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.Sandesh Neupane, Lea Nikolić, Lorenzo Maraio, Thomas Goiran, Nathan Karpilovsky, Stefano Sellitto, Vangelis Bouris, Jiang‐An Yin, Ronald Melki, Edward A Fon, Adriano Aguzzi, Elena De Cecco +11 morewiley +1 more sourceDevelopment of Magnetic Microwires for Magnetic Sensor Applications

Annals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.ABSTRACT Background
Fatigue is among the most common symptoms and one of the main factors determining the quality of life in multiple sclerosis (MS). However, the neurobiological mechanisms underlying fatigue are not fully understood. Here we studied lesion locations and their connections in individuals with MS, aiming to identify brain networks ...Olli Likitalo, Jaakko Kungshamn, Albert Bellmunt‐Gil, Silvia Tommasin, Abhineet Ojha, Matias Viitala, Juho Aaltonen, Jyrki Lötjönen, Juha Koikkalainen, Pauli Ylikotila, Patrizia Pantano, Merja Soilu‐Hänninen, Juho Joutsa +12 morewiley +1 more sourceFluid and Neuroimaging Biomarkers in Microgliopathy Colony‐Stimulating Factor‐1 Receptor‐Related Disorders
Annals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.ABSTRACT Objective
This study aims to identify both fluid and neuroimaging biomarkers for CSF1R‐RD that can inform the optimal timing of treatment administration to maximize therapeutic benefit, while also providing sensitive quantitative measurements to monitor disease progression.Tomasz Chmiela, Madison Reeves, Karen Jansen‐West, Judith Dunmore, Yuping Song, Audrey Strongosky, Sunil Gandhi, Gilana Pikover, Matt Blurton‐Jones, Robert C. Annals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.ABSTRACT Objective
Neuropsychiatric symptoms are among the most prevalent sequelae of COVID‐19, particularly among hospitalized patients. Recent research has identified volumetric brain changes associated with COVID‐19. However, it currently remains poorly understood how brain changes relate to post‐COVID fatigue and cognitive deficits.Tim J. Annals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.ABSTRACT Background
Ambulatory ability after intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is important to patients. We tested whether asymmetry between ipsi‐ and contra‐lesional corticospinal tracts (CSTs) assessed by diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is associated with post‐ICH ambulation.Yasmin N. Aziz, Carl D.
