Magnetic cooling - development of magnetic refrigerator:
2009The paper describes the development and design of a prototype rotary magnetic refrigerator (MR). The principle of the operation of the presented magnetic refrigerator is based on the rotary movement of active magnetic regenerators (AMRs) with magnetocaloric materials and on the stationary magnetic field generated by permanent magnets NdFeB.

A novel rotary permanent magnet magnetic refrigerator [PDF]
In this paper a novel Rotary Permanent Magnet Magnetic Refrigerator (RPMMR) is described. The principle of operation of the presented magnetic refrigerator is based on the AMR thermodynamic cycle. Gadolinium is selected as magnetic refrigerant and demineralized water is employed as regenerating fluid.

Magnetic Refrigeration: A Large Cooling Power Cryogenic Refrigeration Technology
1991While magnetic refrigeration has long been used for refrigeration below 1 K in research laboratories, use of the technology for refrigeration above 1 K is relatively recent. In 1966, van Guens1 provided the first discussion of magnetic refrigeration above 1 K.
