High-Q transmission characteristics in terahertz guided-mode magnetic resonance system

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2023
Introduction: Guided mode resonance is generated by coupling wave diffractions with the waveguided mode. The guided mode resonances provide narrow-linewidth and resonance intensity for high quality factor (Q-factor) optical resonators. Methods: we ...

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Ferromagnetic resonance in exchange-coupled magnetic vortices

open access: yesPhysics of the Solid State, 2022
The results of a study of low-frequency ferromagnetic resonance in a system of two overlapping permalloy disks by magnetic resonance force spectroscopy are presented. It is shown that the resonant frequency of the gyrotropic mode of oscillations of magnetic vortices in this system significantly depends on the vorticity of their shells.

Microbiome‐blood–brain barrier interactions in aging — mechanisms and therapeutic potential

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Aging reshapes the gut microbiome (↓SCFA‐producing commensals; ↑pro‐inflammatory outputs), shifting circulating metabolites (↓SCFAs; ↑LPS, ↑TMAO, ↑PAA) that act at the BBB to increase nonspecific transcytosis, alter transport, and promote astrocyte reactivity, heightening brain vulnerability.
