Physiological and clinical consequences of relief of right ventricular outflow tract obstruction late after repair of congenital heart defects. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
BACKGROUND: Right ventricular outflow tract obstruction (RVOTO) is a common problem after repair of congenital heart disease. Percutaneous pulmonary valve implantation (PPVI) can treat this condition without consequent pulmonary regurgitation or ...

Left ventricular clefts - incidental finding or pathologic sign of Wilson's disease? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Background: Wilson’s disease is an inherited autosomal recessive multi-systemic disorder characterized by reduced excretion and consequently excessive accumulation of copper in different organs, such as the heart. Results: In a prospective controlled

Magnetic resonance (MR) cine imaging of the human heart

open access: yesThe British Journal of Radiology, 1985
Abstract A novel approach has been developed for MR cine imaging of the human heart by a modified ECG-gated 2DFT method. A pulse sequence has been devised to minimise the effects of saturation which can be anticipated in sequences that require rapid pulsing. Five frames are produced at the same anatomical level at predetermined intervals

Strain-encoded cardiac magnetic resonance imaging: a new approach for fast estimation of left ventricular function

open access: yesBMC Cardiovascular Disorders, 2019
Background Recently introduced fast strain-encoded (SENC) cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging (fast-SENC) provides real-time acquisition of myocardial performance in a single heartbeat.

Temporospatial characterization of ventricular wall motion with real-time cardiac magnetic resonance imaging in health and disease

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has been largely dependent on retrospective cine for data acquisition. Real-time imaging, although inferior in image quality to retrospective cine, is more informative about motion dynamics.

Cine magnetic resonance imaging in evaluating retroperitoneal leiomyosarcoma arising from the inferior vena cava

open access: yesIJU Case Reports
Introduction Leiomyosarcoma of the inferior vena cava is associated with poor prognosis. Complete resection is the only curative treatment. We present a patient with this disease in whom cine magnetic resonance imaging was valuable in selecting the ...

New cine magnetic resonance imaging parameters for the differential diagnosis of chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
Chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction (CIPO) is a severe and refractory intestinal motility disorder whose diagnosis currently relies on subjective imaging assessments.

Diagnosis of Acute Myocarditis Using Texture-Based Cardiac Magnetic Resonance, with CINE Imaging as a Novel Tissue Characterization Technique

open access: yesDiagnostics, 2022
Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) has emerged as a useful tool in the diagnostic work-up of patients with clinically suspected acute myocarditis (AM), yet the diagnosis remains challenging.

Evaluation of Aortic Regurgitation Using Cine Magnetic Resonance Imaging.

open access: yesJapanese Heart Journal, 1993
Cine magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was used to assess aortic regurgitation (AR) in 13 patients with valvular disease and 3 normal subjects, and the results were compared to color Doppler flow mapping findings. AR produced a signal void in the left ventricle during the diastolic phase in all patients by MRI.
