Mechanism of Quasi‐Power‐Frequency Resonant Overvoltage Triggered by Multiple Lightning Strikes in High‐Voltage Alternating Current Systems Equipped With Shunt Reactor

open access: yesHigh Voltage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper investigates the generation mechanism of quasi‐power‐frequency resonant overvoltage triggered by multiple lightning strikes in high‐voltage alternating current (HVAC) systems equipped with shunt reactors. Based on field measurements from a 500 kV AC system, equivalent and simplified circuit models have been established to analyse ...

Wave‐Velocity‐Based Temperature Monitoring Applied to Underground Power Cables in Medium‐Voltage Networks—Discrimination of Individual Cable Temperatures in a Distribution Grid

open access: yesHigh Voltage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The thermal state of underground power cables can be monitored based on the temperature dependency of the dielectric permittivity of the insulation material. The resulting temperature‐dependent wave velocity is used as a thermometric property. To this end, the signal propagation time along a cable of an injected signal is determined.

Optimization of Wind‐PV Co‐Generation Systems Using Artificial Bee Colony and Back‐to‐Back Voltage Source Converter

open access: yesIET Smart Energy Systems, EarlyView.
The Graphical Abstract depicts the proposed Artificial Bee Colony algorithm‐based optimal tuning of PI controllers for back‐to‐back Voltage Source Converters in a hybrid wind–PV system. ABSTRACT This paper proposes a hybrid model‐based back‐to‐back voltage‐source converter (B2B‐VSC) system comprising a Photovoltaic (PV) array and a Permanent Magnet ...

Comparative Outcomes of Early versus Delayed Penile Prosthesis Insertion in Patients With Ischaemic Priapism—Long‐Term Outcome Experience From a Single High‐volume Centre

open access: yesAndrology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Ischaemic priapism (IP) is a urological emergency that can lead to erectile dysfunction (ED) if not treated promptly. This study aims to evaluate and compare clinical outcomes between early and delayed penile prosthesis insertion in patients with IP.

Longitudinal changes in bleb morphology following the PAUL Glaucoma Implant visualized using ultrasonography

open access: yesActa Ophthalmologica, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To evaluate bleb morphology longitudinally using sonography following glaucoma drainage device (GDD) surgery. Methods Prospective observational cohort study conducted from January 2022 to March 2024, with follow‐up up to 12 months postoperatively. Bleb morphology, including superior and inferior bleb height, transverse and longitudinal

Wasteosomes accumulate in periventricular white matter hyperintensities and exhibit complex relationships with mixed pathology, sclerotic index, and perivascular space

open access: yesBrain Pathology, EarlyView.
In a mixed diagnostic cohort of pathologically diagnosed Alzheimer's disease, cerebrovascular disease, mixed pathology, and control tissue, we connected the histopathological wasteosome profile in periventricular (PV) brain sections to 7T FLAIR‐MRI confirmed PV white matter hyperintensities (WMHs), vascular stenosis and perivascular space size ...

Predictive factors of epidural blood patch success in intracranial hypotension syndrome

open access: yesHeadache: The Journal of Head and Face Pain, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective This study aimed to identify predictors of epidural blood patch (EBP) success in patients with intracranial hypotension syndrome. Background The epidural blood patch remains the gold standard treatment for intracranial hypotension syndrome, yet its effectiveness varies, and predictors of sustained success remain uncertain. Methods We
