Miniaturized Magnetic Tip Design for Endoluminal Vine Robot Navigation

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A magnetic tip mount is designed for a miniaturized 7 mm soft‐growing vine robot to enable wireless magnetic steering and onboard imaging, while preserving a 3 mm working channel. The internal–external ring magnets design balances magnetic attachment with low eversion pressure. Experiments demonstrate ±90° steering, 34 mm bending radius, and successful

Monitoring May 2024 solar and geomagnetic storm using broadband seismometers

open access: yesScientific Reports
The abrupt variations in the magnetic field due to the May 2024 geomagnetic storm have been recorded by broadband seismometers distributed around the world for a time interval of more than 55 h.

Indole‐3‐Propionic Acid Improves Alveolar Development Impairment via Targeting VAMP8‐mediated SNAREs Complex Formation in Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study aims to evaluate the impact of the tryptophan‐derived metabolite indole‐3‐propionic acid (IPA) on lung development and autophagic flux. IPA alleviates hyperoxia‐induced alveolar arrest by promoting autophagosome‐lysosome fusion via inhibition of VAMP8 phosphorylation, which is suggestive of a promising therapeutic target of BPD.

Motions of charged particles in the Magnetosphere under the influence of a time-varying large scale convection electric field [PDF]

open access: yes
The motions of charged particles under the influence of the geomagnetic and electric fields were quite complex in the region of the inner magnetosphere.

Biodegradable Carbonate Nanogels Loaded with Anti MFAP‐5 siRNA for Anti‐stromal Therapy of Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Polycarbonate nanogels enable lipid‐free delivery of anti‐MFAP‐5 siRNA into cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAF) in hepatocellular carcinoma. In a cirrhotic murine model, this approach silences MFAP‐5, reduces fibroblast activation, and suppresses tumor growth by inhibiting NOTCH/Hes1‐driven angiogenesis. CAF‐targeted MFAP‐5 RNAi and conserved signaling

The geomagnetic and geoelectric response to the May 2024 geomagnetic storm in the United Kingdom

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences
The “Gannon” geomagnetic storm of 10 −12 May 2024 was the first extreme storm of the solar cycle 25 and the largest storm in more than 20years. The auroral electrojet, driven by a strong negative interplanetary magnetic field exceeding −50nT, moved ...

Endocytic Control of Cell‐Autonomous and Non‐Cell‐Autonomous Functions of p53

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NUMB Ex3‐containing isoforms localize to the plasma membrane, where they recruit p53 through SNX9 and direct it to multivesicular bodies and exosomes. Exported p53 is taken up by neighboring cells and activates nuclear programs, revealing an intercellular, exosome‐based pathway that might help establish a tumor‐suppressive microenvironment.

Thermospheric density variations during extreme geomagnetic storms and their potential impact on the orbit of the China space station

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences
Temporal variation and spatial distribution of the thermospheric density can change significantly during geomagnetic storms. These variations in thermospheric density enhance atmospheric drag, posing risks to Low-Earth-Orbit (LEO) spacecraft.

In Situ Lipoprotein‐seeking Dye for in Vivo Real‐Time Imaging of Lipid Dysregulation Diseases

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops lipoprotein‐seeking NIR‐II dyes that specifically bind circulating lipoproteins. These dyes form ultra‐stable complexes with endogenous lipoprotein, enabling real‐time, high‐contrast imaging of fatty liver and atherosclerotic plaques. Tunable binding kinetics allow customized imaging windows.

Interplanetary Causes and Impacts of the 2024 May Superstorm on the Geosphere: An Overview

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The recent superstorm of 2024 May 10–11 is the second largest geomagnetic storm in the space age and the only one that has simultaneous interplanetary data (there were no interplanetary data for the 1989 March storm). The May superstorm was characterized
