Distorter Characterisation Using Mutual Inductance in Electromagnetic Tracking

open access: yesSensors, 2018
Electromagnetic tracking (EMT) is playing an increasingly important role in surgical navigation, medical robotics and virtual reality development as a positional and orientation reference.

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Structural pattern of the Todos Santos Coastal Plain, based on geophysical data

open access: yesCiencias Marinas, 2004
A set of gravity and magnetic data taken within the Todos Santos Coastal Plain between 1962 and 2000 from land, sea and air is used to integrate the structural framework and tectonic model of this area. The present work collected all the available data,

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

A Review of Tunable Inductors for Power Electronics: Techniques and Applications

open access: yese-Prime: Advances in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Energy
Magnetic components are recently being researched and believed to be a main source of losses, and increasing the weight of power converters, which has become a real challenge for designers.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

LaBonte's method revisited: An effective steepest descent method for micromagnetic energy minimization

open access: yes, 2013
We present a steepest descent energy minimization scheme for micromagnetics. The method searches on a curve that lies on the sphere which keeps the magnitude of the magnetization vector constant. The step size is selected according to a modified Barzilai-

Geometric Formulation of Edge and Nodal Finite Element Equations in Electromagnetics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Finite element equations for electromagnetic fields are examined, in particular nodal elements using scalar potential formulation and edge elements for vector potential formulation.

Magnetic Pumps [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Micropumps can be classified into two general categories: mechanical and nonmechanical micropumps (an excellent review on micropumps can be found elsewhere [1]). In a typical mechanical pump, a membrane is used to produce the pumping action. Nonmechanical micropumps on the other hand generally have no moving parts.
