Chiral Modulations in Non-Heisenberg Models of Non-Centrosymmetric Magnets Near the Ordering Temperatures

open access: yesMagnetism
The structure of skyrmion and spiral solutions, investigated within the phenomenological Dzyaloshinskii model of chiral magnets near the ordering temperatures, is characterized by the strong interplay between longitudinal and angular order parameters ...

A novel magnetic phase prior to a saturation moment in frustrated spinel oxides in ultra-high magnetic fields [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2013
We have investigated the magnetic-field induced phases of a typical three-dimensional frustrated magnet, CdCr$_2$O$_4$, in magnetic fields of up to 120 T that is generated by the single-turn coil techniques. We focused on magnetic phase transitions in proximity of a saturated magnetization moment.

Understanding and measuring mechanical signals in the tumor stroma

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This review discusses cancer‐associated fibroblast subtypes and their functions, particularly in relation to extracellular matrix production, as well as the development of 3D models to study tumor stroma mechanics in vitro. Several quantitative techniques to measure tissue mechanical properties are also described, to emphasize the diagnostic and ...

An Update to The Demagnetizing Factor Dataset Calculated for The General Ellipsoid by Osborn

open access: yesMagnetism
The exact formulae for calculating the demagnetizing factors of a general ellipsoid along the three main axes a ≥ b ≥ c have been long known. According to these formulae, the demagnetizing factors depend only on the axial ratios b/a and c/a. Although the

Milestones of low-D quantum magnetism

open access: yes, 2018
There is a long time gap between the formulation of the basic theory of low-dimensional (low-D) magnetism as advanced by Ising, Heisenberg and Bethe and its experimental verification.
